        Logan looked down at Rene who had cried herself to sleep by now. He looked up at the movie which was halfway over. It was getting dark outside and his mom was probably shitting her pants but he didn't care. Rene needed him so here he was going to be. He moved her dark hair from her face so he could see her closed eyes. She shifted a little only to let out a cute sigh. Logan smiled and sank to her level. He started to wrap his arms around her then he sat up. 'What am I doing?' He thought to himself. 'I can't just come in here and take Danny's place... I'm not some rebound.' Logan sighed, slowly got off her bed and grabbed his sweater. When he grabbed her bedroom door handle, Rene's voice muffled from the pillow "You leaving?" He looked back to see her tired eyes staring at him. He slightly nodded, "It's getting late... you going to be okay?" She shrugged, "I think so." 'See, she doesnt need you...' Logan thought to himself. "Sleep well Rene," Logan whispered, flashed his perfect smile then dissapeared into the hallway. Rene laid her head back down and stretched her hands to the side of the bed Logan had been sitting on. She closed her eyes and fell back asleep.

       The next day was a Saturday, thank God, no school- no Danny. Rene woke up and looked at the clock, it was 10:30 am. Her parents were due back in town tommorow afternoon. She rolled over and listened to how quiet her house was. Her cell phone was lit up and it showed 20 missed calls. All of which were from yours truly - Danny. Rene sighed and sat up. She noticed a odd trail off rose petals curving around her bedroom floor and leading out of her room. "Hello?" She called out, crawling out of bed. Rene grabbed her zip-up sweater and put it on to cover her tank-top. She tiptoed down the hallway of rose petals and saw that it continued down the stairs. "Is someone there?" She called out, eyeing the rose taped to her door. Thinking back to all the missed calls, she started to become a little concerned. She went back to her room and got a bat from her closet. Returning to the staircase, she started to slowly walk down. The petals curved some more and led out onto the patio. The sliding door was wide open, letting the warm breeze blow in. Rene gripped the bat even tighter now as she crossed the kitchen and went outside. "Surprise" Logan whispered and covered her eyes. She jumped and raised the bat. "Woah!" He laughed, stepping back, "Easy there Sammy Sosa, I wasn't looking for trouble." Rene smiled and put the bat down, "Sorry, you scared me..." He shrugged, " I tend to have that affect on people." They both laughed. "What is all this?" Rene asked, looking around. Logan sighed, "I thought you could have a nice relaxing day for once.. contrary to yesterday's madness..."  She smiled, "It's awesome, thank you." He nodded, "Sure, wasn't hard at all.. I'm a pro at this stuff.."  Rene smelled one of the roses and nodded, "I bet." "Actually that was a lie, but there's a first time for everything right?" Logan asked, leading her over to the patio chairs. "This was your first time doing this?" She asked, surprised, "It looks beautiful for a first time...did you have a set of plans or something?" He sat down next to her and shook his head, "Nope, just drove past a flower shop on my way home last night and decided I wanted to do something nice for you." Rene nodded, "That's really sweet of you, did you wait all night?" Logan shrugged, "I actually slept in my car and waited for one of your maids to let me in." "What?" Rene muttered, looking back at the house. He laughed, "I'm joking.. you don't have maids do you? I slept on your livingroom couch if that's not too creepy." "You should've told me you were still here.." She laughed. "Oh yeah, and ruin the surprise? No way!" He smiled. Rene laughed and laid back with the rose in her hand. Logan put his sunglasses on and laid back. Appearing like he was looking straight but he was actually admiring her from the corner of his eye.

        Danny threw his cell phone across the room and sighed. "You okay dude?" Ronny asked, looking over at him. "No... I'm not." He muttered, rubbing his neck. "What's up?" James asked, pausing the video game. Danny looked at each of them, "I lost her you guys...the bet's off..." "Dude," Ronny exclaimed, "Don't bail out on us now! You can fix this! You were so close to sleeping with her the other night!" "No," Danny snapped, "I couldn't do it... I actually ended up liking her.... she IS the prettiest girl at our school.. did you notice how she's the only one not hiding behind layers and layers of make-up??" James sighed, "You can still get her back..." "No," Ronny rose, "If you even try getting that bitch back I'm going to tell her all about the bet! I'll tell her that we made a bet that you could sleep with her!" Danny clenched his fist, "Ronny, shut the hell up! Not my fault girls actually like me and they don't pay any attention to you!" "Fuck you Danny!" Ronny shouted, "Girls only pay attention to you because they like the idea of you! But what if they knew the real you?" James rolled his eyes, "You guys stop! Your seriously going to let some girl fuck up our friendship?" "She's not just 'some girl'..." Danny muttered, " I have to go tell her the truth.." "And what will that solve?" Ronny asked, following Danny outside, "She'll hate you even more!" Danny stopped and sighed, "I dont care..." "Oh Danny," Ronny laughed, "I think you do."

       Logan pulled his shirt off and his necklace fell back on his bare chest. He cleared his throat, " Presenting the most odd couple of friends, RENE AND LOGAN!" Rene laughed and rose. She bowed and smiled, "Thank you, thank you." He smiled and shrugged, "Ready to cool off?" "Huh?" She asked then he picked her up. "Logan no!" She laughed, "Dont!" He stood at the edge of the pool and held her above the water. "No!!" Rene laughed and tried to wiggle free. "Say... I'm better off without the jerk face Danny.." Logan demanded. Rene smiled then sighed, "I'm better off without the jerk face Danny..." "Now say... Logan is the sexiest guy alive." He teased. Rene laughed, "I'm not going to say that.." He shrugged, "Your loss." He tossed her into the pool. Rene swam back up to the surface and grabbed her sunglasses as they floated by. She laughed, "Thanks.." Logan bowed, "Thank you, thank you.. I'll be here all day."
