[Suicide] PART 6

Looking at him striaght in the eye, I could see the happiness that I hadn't seen before. It was almost as if he couldn't hold it back. "Oh god..." I whispered. The city must have been totally different. If we were really so close too it, wouldn't this be the woods that I had always searched in? The Forest that used to be here was vast, and how could they cut the whole thing down? Without hate, I didn't think it was possible. "Is it any different?" I quickly asked. Aaron nodded, "Not much though. I bet we could still find out where we lived." Hesitantly shaking my head, I answered, "Aaron...I really doubt that our houses will still be there. It seems that we are in the farther future. These hybrids on the street hadn't even been made yet." Negativity was hinted in the words. They hit Aaron without mercy. "Meggie, come on. I've been negative all my life. We can just at least hope that they're there...Come on..." At once I knew that deep inside I had cutt his spirits. "I'm sorry...I don't mean to be that way..."

He turned away from me and gestured me to come. Stopping where he had before, he repeated the car-jumping process. Pressing hard against gravel, gritting his teeth. Even though he acted like it this boy wasn't steel. He still had feelings and they were vunerable. I hurried over to his side, trying to copy his movements. I was afraid at this point. What if I missed the car? What would happen if he didn't see me and I was left behind? "No girl." Aaron suddenly retorted. I looked over with wide-eyes. "What?" I asked.

The movements of his hands were swift. One around my torso, another, into my hand. My feet were off the ground gracefully. Feeling the breeze between me and the cold arms around me, I lost what was happening. I opened my eyes to see that he was holding me against his chest. It was cold but strong. In the depths of things I felt a fast heart-beat under all the chills and car sounds. Something in me switched. Aaron...he was holding me...No one had held me before. Not even my mother now. She wouldn't hug me almost anymore. Last time my dad even got close to me was when he left for the army. When I felt a sqeeze around my stomach, I heard a faint whisper, something like laughter. Not knowing what it was, I turned away. Into Aaron's warm, but cool chest. I didn't need my mother. She was the one that didn't bother to love me.

What I wanted, was somebody who cares.

But had I gotten it?
