My Own Demise

I don't know when it started. When all my problems began.It was like one day I was this normal, teenager.I got along with my parents most of the time,I did my homework, hung out with friends.

Then something happpend to me.

My parents became a pain, I couldn't stand them. I had better things to do then homework, why should I do it anyways? My friends? I got new ones. Or so I thought the people that I ran with were my friends.

The people I once loved became my enemies. I became my own worst nightmare. I became someone no one knew.       I became Taylor the invincible. Or so I thought.

There was this group of misfits that hung in a pack around school. They were known by everyone, hated by most. They were outcasts. They lived by their own rules. Dressed how they wanted, did what they wanted. People didn't understand them, or maybe they just didn't try hard enough.

Me and my friends tended to stay away from them. They were beneath us. We were rich kids. We hung around other rich kids, we partied with the rich, we excelled with the rich.

That was untill one day I got partnered up with one of them in chemistry. What was Mr. Collins thinking? Paring me up with him. He knew what the clicks were, he knew who I ran with.

Maybe it was his way of trying to bring us together. Maybe he wanted him to learn something from me. Little did Mr. Collins know that I was going to be the student and he was going to be the teacher.

That day, the day that I would look back on and see it was the beginning.

The beginning of the end.

The end of Taylor Steele as everyone knew me. The end of how I had always known myself.

Mr. Collins was pairing the class up for the year. I was a senior, looking forward to graduating with honors the next year. Looking forward to going to college. Looking forward to making something of myself.

"Mr. Browning and Mr. Klark. Miss Dickson, your with Mr. Manning."

I looked up at Mr. Collins from doodling in my notebook.

He looked straight at me and said "Miss Steele, Mr. Young."

I glanced over my shoulder at Jaden.

Jaden gave me that bad boy smirk he always seemed to be wearing. As if to say, This is going to be fun.

After announcing our partners we were told to change seats. I reluctantly got up from beside my best friend Erin, shooting her a help me look. She just shrugged and went back to her cellphone. I went to where Jaden sat or should I say lounged in the back row. He pushed the chair beside him out with his foot, I grabbed it and sat down.

Feeling awkard and out of place I set my books on the desk and tried to act like I wasn't there. A mosquito bite on my leg began to itch and as I reach down to scratch it my hand hit Jaden's knee.

I turned to him my eyes wide, "I'm sorry."

He shrugged.

Now embarassed, I figured I might as well make sure he knew my name. I'd never been one to be rude to anyone.

"I'm Taylor." I told him holding out my hand to him.

He sat there, arms crossed at his chest. Giving me the once over he finally opend his mouth to respond.

"They call me Jay."

And so my story begins.
