Thief Like Me (Part 1)

The occupants of the carriage were silent as they made their way along the road. The royalty of the kingdom of Jalamere were hosting a masquerade ball in honor of the prince who was celebrating his twenty first birthday and also looking for his future bride and queen.
The ball would be held in two days and people from all over would be attending especially the young maidens hoping to with the heart of a prince.
Suddenly, the carriage slowed to a stop and there was the sound of the driver dismounting from his seat.
“Henry, what’s going on?” called the older woman.
The driver appeared in the window. “There’s someone lying in the middle of the road madam. I believe she’s hurt.”
The woman’s eyes softened. “Go bring her here,” she ordered. “The poor dear.”
The driver nodded and leaving the people in the carriage and approached the figure in the road slowly. He crouched down next to the figure and pulled back the hood of the brown cloak that hid the person’s face.
His breath caught. There lye one of the most beautiful women he must have seen in his entire life. Long flowing red hair and well portioned cheek bones. Her eyes fluttered open to reveal eyes brighter than the sky and dark sweeping lashes.
“What happened?” she mumbled. Her voice was smooth as silk.
“I found you here on the road madam,” his said still in awe of her beauty.
She looked around quickly. “Oh.” She began pushing herself up slowly.
The driver, Henry placed a hand on her back and gripped one of her smooth skinned hands in his and helped her to her feet.
She gripped his arms for a moment then let him go to gain her balance on shaky feet.
“Are you alright?” he questioned.
She nodded and smiled. “I’ll be fine.”
He found himself entranced by her smile.
Her brow furrowed and she pointed into the forest behind him. “What’s that?”
Wrenching his gaze away from the young girl he turned to only see the forest behind him. He did not hear when the girl come up close behind him and then something hard connected with the back of his neck. Then there was darkness.
Carrina frowned down at the unconscious man before turning and letting loose a shrill whistle into the air.
Men emerged from the forest some bearing weapons other’s deciding to go about this on their own. Louis came forward and nodded to Carrina who returned it.
She then approached the door of the carriage and opened it with a smile.
“Good afternoon,” she greeted the surprised people inside. “It’s nice to meet you and I would love to extend these pleasantries but I’m afraid I have impatient men out here so if you do not mind you will need to dispose of all valuable items at this moment. Jewels, coins, it does not matter.”
“B-but now wait just one minute young lady,” protested one of the men. “What is the meaning of this?”
She focused her smile on him. “Why let put it simple for you my dear sir, you’re being robbed and at this moment your trunks are being removed from the top of the carriage,” a loud thump came from the outside to emphasize her words.
A young woman who had been gazing out the carriage window gasped. “Daddy there are men everywhere!”
“Now,” said Carrina. “about those valuables?”
Carrina knew what the man was about to do. Most did it when they saw a girl was the one who was taking their valuable. He put his hand in his coat pocket and before he could withdraw the little dagger Carrina was across the carriage, wrenched the girl forward by her hair and had her outside. The girl screamed.
To the man’s horror Carrina pulled forth her own dagger from the folds of her cloak and held the blade against the girl’s neck. The girl continued to scream.
“Be quiet!” Carrina jarred the girl hard. She went immediately silent.
The man and the other woman Carrina assumed to be his wife had exited the carriage.
Some of the men around laughed at the scene because they knew something the couple did not know.
Carrina could not kill. She may threaten it and they always believed her because, after all she was a robber, a felon. Someone who did not care so why would she not kill but with as long as she had been with them she had never killed anyone.
“Now, you’re valuables sir,” Carrina said coldly.
The man and woman shaking removed the jewelry and coins they had and even turned to remove another bag of things they held in the carriage and dropped it all at Carrina’s feet.
Most of men had gone now taking the people’s trunks and the horses to their carriage with them. Only few remained waiting on Carrina.
Carrina waited while those few remaining men collected what the parents dropped.
“Now whatever jewels you have on drop them too,” ordered Carrina to the young girl.
The girl trembling removed a ring, a bracelet and a diamond pin and handed them shakily back to Carrina who took them while removing the dagger and pushing the girl forward to her parents.
“Thank you all so much for your generosity and now I must bid you all a farewell,” Carrina smiled and turned to make her way to the forest knowing they would not follow. The families never did.

i really do like it (i rated earlier so don't worry) different than a lot of stories on here and much better too. if it's not pregnancy or a pathetic love story it is about sex (but there are a few stories that are good and like that... not the sex stories but the romance genre ones) anyway kmpp |
