He could not swallow more than half for as soon as the liquid began it’s decent down his throat it began to burn. Starting with his throat then more slowly moving throughout his body and a long agonizing process.
He tried to speak to say anything but the burning sensation would not allow it.
As if the pain running down his throat was not enough he was caught off guard by the sudden piercing pain in his hand. He looked down to see that in his agony his had clutched the glass vile so tightly In his hand that it had shattered and split open his hand and now what remained liquid had been in the vile was now happily infecting his blood with it’s burning.
He managed to drop the shattered vile from his hand but he could do little more than that. The pain was intense and beginning to reach the pits of his very stomach.
Now that the liquid had infected his blood it was freely running through his veins causing the burning sensation to fill his body more quickly.
He collapsed to his knees barely comprehending what was happening to him. The pain was so mind numbing that it felt as though he was not apart of his body but floating above in a mindless hover.
He returned with a deafening crash which oddly sounded like a hoarse scream and with a start he realized it was he who had let out such a scream of agony.
He fell forward from his position of sitting on his knees.
The door to the study was opened and he could barely understand the fact that voices were surrounding him.
Nothing made sense anymore. Only the flames that now had consumed every inch of his body.
Time seemed to last forever before the pain began to dull, and then he realized it was not the pain that was dulling but himself as darkness began to slowly pull him under and he knew that he had to be dying for no one could survive pain such as this. And for that moment before he was completely consumed he knew death would even be welcomed if it would only take away the pain.
