Defying Forever! Pt. 6
|
TWO MONTHS LATER…
Vayden had never thought he could feel this way for someone, especially a human.
In the time he had been here he had spent nearly everyday of that time with Anna. She was unlike anyone he had ever met before.
She was different and unique in her own way. She did not care what others thought about her and just lived life free and happy.
He loved spending time with her. Well…what time he could which was only at night. Which brought on another thing he found amazing about her.
She did not question his preference to the night or his secretiveness about his home. They always met either at the abandoned subway or the corner of her street, sometimes they met at the dock.
She was unreal to him. She was the type of girl he could see himself spending the rest of his life with but that was the problem. He had no life. He had an existence but no life. There had to be some way to fix this. He was sick of it!
He wanted to feel the heat of the sun on his skin and the taste of normal human food and the deliciousness of it. Not the aching pain and uncontrollable thirst blood brought on.
He had to go back. If there was anyone who knew about what he was going through it was his parents. Surely they knew some way that he may be with Anna.
“Hey,” came the voice from behind him.
He turned smiling. He had been so engrossed in his thoughts that he had not even noticed her approach.
“Hello,” he replied.
“Where to tonight?” she questioned.
“Let’s find someplace to talk,”
“Umm—alright,” she said suddenly wary.
The walked in silence a ways down the street until they came upon an old park bench where they stopped to sit.
“So what’s the matter?” she asked avoiding his eyes.
He smiled slightly before grabbing her chin in his hand and forcing her to meet his eyes before he slowly leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers.
“I’m leaving for home tomorrow night,” he said when they had pulled apart.
She pulled back sharply. “What?”
He had explained to her long ago that he was not from here and was merely biding his time until he would return.
“I think it’s time I talk to my family. When I left…” he paused thinking of how to place the words. “I left very quickly. I left brothers and sisters behind without sparing them a single goodbye. I just…left,”
“Will you come back,” she asked quietly.
“I hope,” he replied.
“Oh,” she turned to look out across the street. There was an unspoken sadness clearly reflected in her eyes.
“I want you to come with me,” he said.
Her head turned back sharply. “Excuse me?”
“That is if you want to go with me,” he added quickly.
She smiled brightly. “Of course I do but…I don’t even know where you live.”
“There’s really no name for where I live. Let’s just say it’s…different.”
She smiled a crooked smile. “Like you?”
He chuckled. “I guess you could say that.”
“What about your family. Are you sure they’ll even want you to bring someone home with you?”
“My mother will be more than welcome to you and some of the others may be cautious at first but…we won’t stay long.”
“I don’t mind staying…what do you mean cautious?”
“We don’t receive many visitors other than our family. Some are uneasy around outsiders.”
“I’m not so sure about this anymore.”
He smiled and stood pulling her up with him. His arms wrapped around her waist pulling her tightly against him. ‘If you do not want to go then I understand but it’s like I said. We will not be there long. Not if I can help it.”
“What do you mean by that?” she questioned.
He shook his head. “When we get there I think its best that you choose not to wander but stay in my room.”
Her brow furrowed and he sighed. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea but his mother would know what to do about the whole situation. She was after all a human one time in her life…surely she would know how to go about this. Maybe even find a way for him and Anna to be together.
Hopefully Forever.
