Bite Me Beautiful! Pt.22
|
Elva clutched her babies closely to her. Delandron had been right. Her worst nightmare had come true. They wanted to take her babies from her.
She looked to Delandron whose expression must have reflected her own horror.
The man held the gun higher when she didn’t immediately respond. “I mean it! Give me the monsters now!”
Still she did not move. It was as if she was frozen in shock and fear for her babies.
Anger flashed across his face. He did not like being disobeyed by what he considered monsters.
He raised the gun high aiming it at her head. His finger tightened on the trigger.
What happened next seemed to move in slow motion as she, never allowing her eyes to stray from the man, placed her babies onto the cot. She would die to protect them if she must. What happened next would be forever engraved in her memory.
She was too weak to move at that moment from the birth. All she could do was sit there and wait to be killed. Delandron would make sure her babies were protected but Delandron had plans of his own.
A loud bang echoed throughout the tiny cell as the weird looking bullet sped toward her. A dark shape launched itself in front of her keeping the bullet from hitting her.
The figure collapsed onto the ground clutching at his chest in agony. Leaving the babies where they lay she pushed herself off of the cot and down next to Delandron.
Pain was evident in his eyes as he gazed up at her with a sad little smile playing about his lips. “Couldn’t let the mother…of my grandbabies…be killed,” he gasped out. A large hole was in the center of his chest where his dark blood along with a grayish liquid flowed onto his body.
She shook her head, tears coming to her eyes.
He patted her cheek with a shaky hand. “Don’t let those babies…grow up…not knowing what their…grandfather was like…” He coughed.
She nodded.
Suddenly the grayish liquid burst into flames and he screamed. She jumped back and gazed in horror as his chest was now covered in flames and within seconds a pile of ash now laid where the king had lye.
“Now give the babies or your next!” yelled the man who had stood in the doorway watching the whole thing.
She took in a shaky breath and turned to where her babies’ lye on the cot now crying in fear from Delandron’s screams.
She knew not what happened to her in that moment as a sudden burst of strength hit her and quicker than light her wings burst forth and she was suddenly standing in front of the man anger radiating from every bone in her body.
The man gasped and stumbled back slightly ready to shoot again but she knocked the gun from his hand before he had the opportunity. She knew if she was not feeling such anger in her body at that moment she would never had had the nerve to do what she did.
She clutched the man’s face in her hands and pulled him forward until her lips were right next to his ears. He struggled fiercely but her strength was too much for him. “You just made the biggest mistake of your life,” she whispered fiercely.
With those quiet words she jerked his head hard to the left and it broke with a clear snap and he collapsed onto the floor dead. She walked back to the cot where she comforted her babies until they quit their crying.
“Everything will be alright mommy’s babies. I’ll get us out of here. Now you just sit quiet until I’m done. Mommy is going to take care of everything,” she stood and made her way over to the open doorway stepping over the body of the dead man.
She turned back once more to check on her baby’s who were now sleeping peacefully.
Now it was time for the real monsters to pay!
She couched low staying close to the wall listening to the footsteps of the humans in the next room. From what she could hear, there were six humans at the most in that room alone but there was plenty more in the building.
Using her speed she rushed into the room where the six humans gathered around a large table eating. Before they realized what was happening she ripped the head of the first man off and had already broken the arm of the next.
Their screams of pain echoed loudly and the smell of their blood intoxicated her. Anger and pain seemed to drive her forward as she quickly disperse of the others.
Three more men who must have heard the screams rushed into the room. Her fist went through the chest of the first man she could get to, coating her arm in blood and she crushed the neck of the other with just her other hand.
All of her emotions seemed to come down on her in that moment as she yet took away the life of another man. Pain, anger, despair. It all mingled together within her body.
She stumbled grabbing onto the wall for support. Suddenly screams erupted through the entire building but she was to weak to try to see what was going on. Snarls and the sounds of throats being ripped apart met her ears. Still she did not move.
She closed her eyes and rested her head back against the wall. Footsteps rushing down the hall met here ears. The door opened and the person rushed into the room pausing, she realized, when he noticed the bodies.
Her eyes did not open. Suddenly she was grabbed and pulled hard against a cold stone chest and clutched tightly to it. The familiar smell of him wafted up to her nose and her arms came around him and she buried her head into his chest and began crying furiously now. Demetris buried his head into her hair.
Her sobs finally ceased and she pulled back to look up at the man she loved.
“Elva,” he sighed before pulling her to him in a passionate kiss that took her breath away. When he pulled away he glanced down to her stomach and his eyes widened when he noticed it was no longer bulging as it had been. “Elva!” he exclaimed.
She nodded wiping away the tears. “We have to go get them! I don’t know what happened to me. I was just so angry…the man…Delandron…” she gasped out pulling away from him and pulling what strength she had together and running down the hall to the room.
“Elva wait! Did you say them? And what about my father? Do you know where he is?”
Elva paid him no heed as she ran into the room, jumped over the man and collapsed down next to the cot. Both her babies still lye sleeping peacefully. She smiled tears coming to her eyes at the love she felt for them. Nothing on this earth had ever felt as precious to her as those babies did at that moment.
She felt Demetris’s presence as he rushed into the room behind her. He crouched down at her side and gazed at them in wonderment.
“Twins?” he questioned looking to her.
She smiled and nodded but frowned when another crashing sound met her ears. “What is happening?” she questioned.
He brought his hand out to stroke the tiny cheek of the girl before replying. “The other vampires. The ones who left so many years ago returned and rejoined us. They knew where this place lye and at the beginning of the night we invaded it prepared to kill every human being in our way until I found you but I can see you have already been taking care of a few for us,” he said indicating the man.
She looked away.
At his sudden sharp intake of breath she knew what he had seen. She looked in the direction of his gaze and saw the pile of dust that had once been his father and the man she had loved as one. The man who had helped her bring her babies into this world and the man who had given his life to save hers.
“He did it to save me,” she whispered brokenly. “It was not even three minutes after they were born when that man came in wanting me to give them to him. I didn’t want to but was too weak to even move at that time. He was going to kill me but your father jumped in front of the bullet before it could hit me. He saved mine and our children’s lives,” she looked up at him. “It should have been me,” she whispered.
“Don’t say that!” he pulled her close and clutched her tightly to him. “I will miss him dearly but never say it should have been you to die. He knew what he was doing when he did what he did. He wanted you to live and his grandchildren to be safe. He did it because he loves you and I bet if he had the chance he would do it again. Remember that.”
She nodded against his chest sniffing slightly before speaking. “After it happened I don’t know what came over me. It was as if all the anger I had felt throughout my life exploded within me and I just went on a rampage killing everything in my path. Oh god! I killed all those people in that room!”
He chuckled. “Yes you did and very efficiently I might add. But try not to feel remorse. They were going to kill you eventually and it was un-telling what they would have done to our children if they had gotten to them.”
“I know,” she whispered.
“Sire!” came a voice from the doorway.
Demetris sighed and turned to the man. “What is it Rendolio?”
“Pardon me for interrupting but we discovered what they were doing with the vampires they caught…” he trailed off eyeing Elva.
“It’s alright. You can speak in front of Elva,”
Rendolio nodded before pulling a small vile of gold liquid from his pocket. “This is the only one we could find but we found a bunch of documents explaining the formula of it. They were taking blood from the vampires and mixing it with types of chemicals trying to rearrange the structure of the blood to return a vampire to…their human form,” he explained. “They thought they had finally gotten it right with this one but was going to try to use your children’s blood and then test it on your father and wife.”
Demetris stood and took the vile from Rendolio putting it into his pocket and nodded to him. “I think it’s best I lock this away where it cannot be found.”
Rendolio nodded. “Sir all the human’s has been killed and your men are preparing to burn he place down whenever you are ready.”
Demetris returned to Elva’s side and gently picked his sleeping daughter up from the cart. “We’ll be there soon,” he said gazing with love down at the sleeping bundle.
Once Rendolio left he chose to speak again. “Have your thought about names?
She smiled and nodded. “Every day since I discovered I was pregnant.”
”And for the girl?” he asked.
“Luna,” she said picking up the boy and coming to stand next to him.
“Luna?” he thought the name over. “a very beautiful name for our beautiful little girl. And the boy?”
“I thought you could name him,” she replied.
“Hmmm…Darian?”
Her nose wrinkled in distaste for the name.
He chuckled and was silent for a few moment going over names in his head. At last he spoke again. “Darius?”
She smiled. “I like it.”
He chuckled. “Well how about we take Luna and Darius home?”
She nodded and looked down at her children before returning her gaze to her loving husband. “Let’s go home,” ((RATE IF YOU LIKED IT!!))
