     “Where are we going?” asked Elva once her mind had cleared enough from the shock of Frederic disappearing so quickly.  She was still not quiet used to the speed of a vampire. 

           

     “To cut the cake of course,” said Demetris smiling amusedly. 

           

     “Cake?” she questioned incredulously.  “I thought we only fed on blood?”

           

     “Well it’s strictly for ceremonial purposes of course.”

           

     “What did they do? Cover a pig in icing?”

           

     He chuckled.   “Of course not.  Cow’s are much more appetizing.” 

           

     Her eyes widened.  “You’re kidding right?”

           

     He laughed again.  “Of course.  We can still taste the food but sometimes it can be bitter so they have enhanced the flavor and as a thing for vampires they kind of trailed over the icing with blood.”

            

     “Who’s blood?”

           

     “An animal’s.  I’m not sure what kind but an animal so no worries.”

           

     She shook her head in disbelief.  “A wedding cake covered in blood.”

           

     “And I also suggest you only eat one piece of that wedding cake because if we consume to much human food then it can be fatal to our bodies.” He grimaced patting his stomach. 

           

     “How much is too much?” she questioned sadly.  She kind of liked the idea of eating what ever you want and it no affecting your body. 

           

     “One piece should be enough but then after that you might be seeing those extra pieces again.”

           

     She closed her eyes briefly in disgust and he laughed.             

           

     The rest of the evening passed quickly and happily.  After the cake was cut and minutes passed Elva indeed go to see what Demetris had meant when he said the food could be fatal. 

           

     She had just finished her first piece which she had discovered was more delicious than she had first suspected even the oddity of the blood she found tasted better than she had first allowed herself to believe it would be.

           

     She had just taken her last bite when a man she couldn’t remember his name suddenly stood and tried to run from the room but unfortunately didn’t make it out in time. 

           

     She turned her head quickly to avoid seeing the multicolored chunks flow from his mouth, to Demetris laughing amusedly. 

           

     “You find that funny?” she questioned. 

           

     “No,” he replied smiling.  “We usually have at least one of them when we choose to eat human food.  I was laughing at you.  You should see your expression.”

           

     She glared at him before setting her plate down now suddenly losing all appetite for the delicious cake.

           

     He chuckled again and set his down next to hers. 

           

     He turned her head away from him to gaze down the long oak table at all of the faces.  She still felt herself dazzled by the large dining room Demetris had led her to.    It was not as large as the grand hall where the wedding had taken place but large none the less.

           

     In the middle of the high ceiling was a crystal chandelier that illuminated the room in its bright glow.  The room merely consisted of the long and very large oak dining table that stretched long enough to seat all of the vampires of the house and still have room for more.  In the middle of this table sat the amazing multi-layer cake that seemed to be taller than myself. 

     She gazed down at where the cake sat not one fourth the size it had been before. 

           

     It was then that Elizabeth came up behind her and Demetris. 

           

     “You two don’t need to stay any longer.  Everyone will be going to their rooms soon anyway.”      

           

     Demetris nodded and stood to kiss his mother’s cheek.  “We’ll see you later.”

           

     She nodded and Elva stood also nerves suddenly beginning to kick up once again.  She had completely forgotten about the marriage night…well in this case marriage day. 

           

     Elizabeth hugged her.  “I’m so happy that he found you,” she whispered in her ear so only she may hear her. 

           

     Elva pulled back and smiled at her fighting back tears.

           

     “Shall we?” questioned Demetris offering his arm to her. 

           

     She smiled and linked her arm with his and with a few goodbyes to the others they left the dining hall and made their way through the grand hall, up the stairs and down the hall to his…well now their room. 

           

     They were silent through the walk and Elva had never felt anymore awkward.  Thoughts were racing through her mind about what could possibly happen. 

           

     He opened the door and allowed her entrance before him.  She walked to the middle of the room and stood with her back to him clutching her hands tightly in front of her. 

           

     She heard the door close quietly and the silent click of the lock echoed in her head. 

           

    He came up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulder to turn her to face him.  She kept her gaze to the floor but he placed his hand under her chin to tilt her head up to look at him. 

           

     “If you want to wait then we will.  I know how…well overwhelming all of this is for you and if you want to wait I will more than willingly wait for you.”

           

     She smiled happily to him.  How could she resist a man who was willing to wait for her?  Someone who could be as wonderful as him.  Deciding to be impulsive she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close before placing her lips onto his. 

           

     She felt his lips tip up in a smile and he pressed her body closer to his running his hands down her side.  She shivered and broke the kiss.

           

     His eyes were wary.  “Are you sure.”

           

     She knew that she could never be surer about something than she was about this.  “Yes I am,” she whispered and smiled timidly. 

           

     “Thank God,” he muttered before swooping her up into his arms. 

           

     She giggled and pulled his face to hers for another kiss. 

           

     Within moments they landed onto the bed with him on top of her never once breaking the kiss and with that as the beginning she happily gave her body and as they both relaxed into a contented sleep and before darkness took over she began to realize that she was starting to give him what ever kind of heart she had left.
