     She was kicking a loose piece of stone along the wet road, sniffling slightly and letting her makeup run down her face along with the tears that sprung from her brilliant teal eyes. Her dyed black-and-blond hair was a mess, but did she really care? No. Not in the least. The large, loose black hooded sweatshirt that she wore smelled like his cologne and only made her cry harder. How could he have done this to her? She stumbled onward, losing one of her small black flats and leaving it in the middle of the street. She needed someone to love her again. She glanced up to find herself deep within the city, in the back streets, out in front of an old bookshop that she had never known existed. It was still open, and so, in her heartbroken grief, she wiped the mascara from under her brilliantly colored eyes and stepped inside to get out of the pouring rain.
     Little did she know that, upon entering this little store, she was on the fast track to finding the love she so desperately desired.
