   "Well the doctors say when the brusing goes away I might be able to start remebering my friends."

   "Wow thats great!" I said enthusiastically.Happy for the first time since his accedent.

   "Hmm i wonder why none of my friends have approached me? You would think they would reconize me and say hi, but no one seems to be stepping up." he said. His experession turned from a happy one to a confused sad look.

   "Uhm Jerret..." I said slowly.

   "Yeah?"

   I know I should tell him... but I just can't seem to be able to spit it out. I paused for a moment more, looking down at the floor. Then I noticed our matching shoes, and I began to stare at them while I analysed myself and why I couldn't bring myself to tell him. Just then he looked down too, and laughed.

   "Hey look we're wearing the same... shoes..." his voice trailing off, and his confused look returning.

   He rubbed his head like he had a headache. Then looked back up at me still confused. A moment passed, he was still staring at me, and then he realised the look on my face.

   "Whats wrong?" he said.

   I quickly snapped back to earth.

   "Oh sorry, yeah what were we talking about again?"

   "You were going to tell me something?" he looked into my eyes as he spoke.

   "Oh yeah, I was gonna say... i'm sure you'll figure out who your friends were." I smiled weakly at him as I said it.

   Another long moment passed... in silence, just like it use to be. Even though he didn't remember me the silence wasn't awkward... exactly... the same as it use to be! In a moment of greif I decided, i will make hm remeber me.

   "Hey, Jar do you want to go to the coffee shop downtown with me after school?"

   "Yeah sure." he said. He seemed to still be thinking deeply.

   "So do you remeber then where Le Petit Cafe is?" I asked anxious for his reply.

   "Uh... yeah I think so."

   Suddenly he began to sway on his feet, and before he could fall over I quickly grabbed his arm to steady him.

   "You ok?"

   "Yeah, just thought I remem... never mind. So see you after school."

   Just then the warning bell rang and I went on my way to class.
