It's Time we let goInfluenced by the song “She said, I said” by NLT
“I will get through this” The sentence repeated itself in Travis’s head. The sky was dark and menacing, the air thick with the smell of coming rain; it matched the moods of the four boys as they walked down the lonely railway track. His bag weighed heavy not only on his shoulder but on his heart. Travis knew from the start that it wouldn’t work, but he refused to believe it. It caused him too much pain to think of how they use to be. When he seen her for that last time, he was lost for words. She cried and he could do nothing to comfort her, it just hurt too much. He had tried so hard to keep her satisfied with what love he could give her, they just needed time to work things out. She had begged him not to leave but there was just something deep inside him that told him he couldn’t do it any more.
He had held her hands, the tears falling down her face couldn’t change the decisions he had made. “I just feel that we are in the same room, but living two worlds apart…And it’s causing too much pain”
It tore him apart to hear her beg him, but he knew he had to leave before it was his heart that got torn apart.
She said, "Baby can you please just stay? It isn’t too late to work this thing out"
He said, "Girl this isn’t easy for me. At least the truth is coming out."
"Why can’t we make up like the last time? I'm just afraid to hear u say go."
"Baby I'm sorry, I think its time we let go,"
Tears were like torrents running down those delicate cheeks that he use to caress “Baby don't leave, tell me you'll stay,”
Travis let her hands fall and shook his head “I got to leave, I think its time we let go. Please don't make things more difficult then they have got to be. I can’t take any more, this is killing me.”
Justin let his hand rest on Travis’s shoulder “You’re doing the right thing” That lonely walk was making it harder for him to go, but he knew it had to be done. These boys had been his friends for just two years, Justin, Kevin, V…But they were the closest thing to family that he had. They told him she wasn’t right, but he chose to block out there pleading. She had proven to him once and for all that the best thing to do was to let go.
Singing, dancing, fame and fortune, friends…these were his passions. His band had pulled through fire, they had been signed with a producer, they had an album coming out, but he chose her over them. He had pushed the things that really meant something to him away all for her, and she betrayed his trust. To him she was the world; she was like a beautiful flower. He learnt the hard way that even the most beautiful flower could be poisonous. The train station loomed ahead of them like a mass of dark shadows, the sun was setting casting darkness into every corner. Trains could be heard coming in and going out. Soon he would be boarding one, bound for an unknown future full of uncertainty and dismay but Travis knew this was something that had to be done. The platform was desolate; it sent a shiver of cold, almost like an icy feeling up the backs of the newly created boy band. NLT had been formed by chance, one could almost say it was fate but now there future seems barren. Their lead was leaving and without him there seemed no reason to go on. Travis boarded the train as a silver Mercedes came to a screeching halt outside the doors of the lonely station. A girl wrenched herself out the door and ran up the stairs. Onlookers stared in confusion, wondering what tragic accident could make the eyes of this beautiful girl tear up. Travis didn’t move from the seat he had taken. He just sat and watched as the girl of his dreams was left standing on the platform stamping her feet and crying tears coloured like the bluest of oceans. The train pulled away leaving behind his family, his friends, his fame and most of all, the unwanted memories of the girl he had told that it was time to let go.
