A Love to Last a Lifetime (1)

Romance Created on 11-21-07 Views(113) Story Rating G

A love to last a lifetime

The alarm clock blared heavy metal music, the sun shone through the stained glass windows throwing different colours through the room but nothing could wake her, not even the sound of her father banging on her bedroom door. “Come on, out of bed sleepy head you’ve got school today” He walked over to her bed and sat down.

She rolled over and faced the trustworthy face of her father and sighed “I can’t go to school today I’m sick. Look…” She put on a fake cough but he didn’t buy it

“Get up before I pick you up and throw you in the cold shower”

She heaved herself out of bed and walked to the door leading into her very own bathroom, being an only child had its advantages especially when you were rich. The young girl looking back at her in the mirror looked dreadful in the morning, her golden brown locks in a tangle from the restless sleep the night before, her eyes held dark circles, her cheeks were a faded pink and too herself she always looked bloated in the mornings, but any one who she told that to would probably slap her considering she was the perfect picture of a supermodel. The shower felt so good running down her back that she sighed and tilted her head letting the warm water run down her chest. After half an hour of wasting water she jumped out and pulled on a pair of faded designer jeans and a Purple stripped winter shirt, then on top of that a black coat with fur on the edges, nothing outrageous but enough to turn the eye. She looked in the mirror again “There you go, looking so much better now” She smiled at her reflection and ran down to the kitchen and there waiting for her was a bowl of her favorite cereal. “Thanks Margaret” She called into the kitchen pantry. “Your very welcome my dear. Oh and Happy birthday”

She smiled at the woman in the pantry and continued to eat. It’s not everyday that you turn 17 but hey it was no different to another day of the year, except for the fact that it marked the death of her mother, 7 years to the day.

Colin walked down the stairs and kissed his daughter on the head “Happy birthday my dear” She smiled and gave her father a hug and he handed her a small wrapped package.

“Aww dad you didn’t have to”

“Oh but I did you see” She pulled the paper from the small box revealing a rectangular leather box. She gasped when she pulled the silver charm bracelet from it and put it on her wrist “Daddy…It’s perfect. I love you so much.”

She pulled the car into the school parking lot and locked it behind her. In the distance ahead of her was the last obstacle she would have to overcome before facing the wide world. Her last year, her senior year and of course she was excited.

“DI!!!...ADINA!!!”

She turned around to find a skinny blonde headed girl running towards her “KELLY!!!” She screamed falling into the arms of the blonde girl “Oh my god Kelly I missed you so much over summer”

“I know I was totally bummed to leave you here alone all summer but Enrique wanted to go to Spain to meet the parents” Adina laughed and hugged he best friend, Kelly and Adina meet on the first day of kindergarten and they hadn’t been separated since until Enrique came on scene and whisked her away to another country for the summer, because summer was hot in Australia and Enrique didn’t like the heat.

First period bell rung Adina sat in her assigned seat and pulled out her books for advanced calculus. She wasn’t the smartest person on earth but her father always said she was clued on. Ten minutes into the lesson the door open and in walked a boy. He was nothing much to look at, he was about 1m70, fit and it looked like her worked out but not too much. His tanned skin matched the dark brown of his hair and as he scanned the room his gaze rested on her…his hair matched the darkness of his eyes.

He was getting closer to her and her cheeks burned that’s when she realized the teacher was addressing her “Adina Forman, if you are finish inspecting our knew classmate will you allow us to continue with the lesson?”

“Umm…y…yes sir”

Oh my god that was so embarrassing she thought to herself. At the end of the lesson she packed up as fast as she could trying not to lock eye with the new stranger but she just wasn’t fast enough. They met at the door and he stepped back and motioned for her to go before him, She walked past him and gave him the slightest smile and his face brightened and his dark cheeks turned a dark red, he knew exactly what that ment.
