It was the next day. My Birthday and we had all been busy since we woke up. I had woken up to find there was no body lying beside me like I had expected. I walked down stairs to find mum and dad sitting at the table with Jeremy and rose and a large bundle of packages in front of them except for the tiny wrapped package that was sitting in front of Jeremy. I walked to them and I was greeted by hugs… lots and lots of hugs, then it got to the present time. I thanked them all for going to so much trouble for me especially Jeremy and Rose. Mum and dad handed me a wrapped box covered in cellophane… A phone. I thanked them and then rose gave me her, it was a T-shirt that said ‘Kiss me before my boyfriend comes back” I gave rose a hug and turned to Jeremy. He kissed me on the cheek and said happy birthday and handed me a small box wrapped in paper with roses on it. I started to open the paper carefully and came to a small red velvet box. I looked at Jeremy and then back at the small box I held in my hand. I gasped as I opened it to find a small locket in the shape of a heart with an inscription on the front saying ‘I will never leave you. Love always Jeremy’I looked at the locket and tried to fight back the tears. This locket had been close to the exact same one that my dad had bought me for my 14th birthday. He had the accident as he was on his way to my birthday party. Jeremy looked at me “I hope you don’t mind, I know your dad gave you close to the same one” I smiled“Well maybe it’s time I let go of the past” I took off my old locket and gave it to mum then turned around while Jeremy did it up around my neck. I turned around and faced him then touched the locket that hung around my neck, that’s when I new this was the guy I was going to spend the rest of my life with.The start of the day was hectic. We ran here and ran there put things here then wondered were we put them. By lunch time everything was set up for the party. At 3.00pm everyone started to arrive, Nana and Grandpa and all my friends from school. We ate dinner than we all jumped in the pool that we had in the back yard. The party went until about 9.00pm and by then every one was worn out. After everyone left we all had showers and sat down to watch TV, That was when the confession was made. I walked upstairs and rose followed e which I found quite weird so I turned to her and seen a terrifying expression on her face“Rose what’s wrong”“Emily… I have to tell you something” and just the way she said it made me feel uncomfortable.
