Love From A Fallen Angel (Part 7)

"Well, if you must..." She left the room for a moment and came back with two glasses of water. "Safe trip, miss." She handed you a glass and you accepted it. You drank deeply the goblet that was given to you. When you finished it, you felt dizzy, light headed, sleepy. You stumbled forward.
"Are you all right, miss?" Angela became a fuzzy blur in your eyes. You tried to make out shapes and colors, but you couldn't even do that anymore. You stumbled forward into Angela's arms and lost consciousness.

When you woke up, you found yourself in a field of wild flowers. You looked down at yourself and found that you were wearing at 1800's colonial dress, green and white. You stood up, and in the distance saw an old plantation mansion, the ones from the south. You went toward it, and as you came closer, you could hear a woman singing. When you came to the door, you knocked. It made a hollow sound, like the house hadn't been lived in for centuries. You knocked again and the door swung open. You stepped inside, looked around, and said, "Is anyone in here?"
"In the living room, my dear. Please, come and make yourself at home." The voice sounded that of an old woman and came from your right. You walked toward the voice, curious but cautious. You came into a large living area. It was Victorian furnished. A beautiful fireplace at the wall in front of you, with a fire blazing inside. The old woman you heard was sitting in an old rocking chair in front of the fireplace. She seemed to be staring into the fire, like there was something in it that she was looking for.
"Come closer, my dear." she spoke. You came closer. "Don't be afraid, my dear. I don't bite. I leave that to my granddaughter."
You stopped in misstep. "What do you mean?" Your voice trembled.
"I'm getting too old to go out hunting for myself, my dear. So I have my young, strong granddaughter do it for me."
