As the small white candle got lower and the light grew dim Aleera's light blue eyes shead tears that were caught by her soft brown hair, while a tear fell onto the off white paper in her shaking hands she began to read that which was the letter left by her mother.
'Aleera please take this amulet and do not let it out of your sight... I expect some strange things will soon happen, stay strong.'
Aleera carefully folded the letter in half again then picked up the tiny silver bag and looked inside, there was a beautiful sapphire with golden rimming.
As her last tear fell and the candle burnt low Aleera lay down on the piece of foam which she called her bed and fell asleep.

BTW anyone who does happen to read this... Yeah as you have most likely guessed I am no longer posting it as no-one does read it. If you are interested, let me know. This story has been edited since and so now it is much better. |

When? Where? Who? Are the three main questions that are meant for an introduction. We have no idea of any of these from this. "dim" should be changed to "dimmer" with a period to mark the end of the sentence. It's "shed" not "shead". Period at the end of "inside". Foam? What about blankets, pillows? Clothes to take off? This would be good to entice people to read on but not as an introduction. |
