                Diana drove as if the devil itself were following her. Well, it wasn’t the devil. But two huge monsters were running behind the car, and they were fast.  A normal wolf can run at almost 40 miles per hour over short distances, but these two beasts were faster. Diana was hitting almost 75 m p/h and they were catching up to her. Diana pushed the gas harder and raised the speed up to 85 m p/h.  Stephanie kept screaming and crying while Diana tried to keep the steering wheel steady. After almost half an hour the werewolves gave up and Diana relaxed a bit. Stephanie stopped screaming and tried to relax. Instead of driving to her aunt’s house, Diana made a U-turn and drove to the hospital.

-“Why are you turning back?” – Asked Stephanie.

-“I need to make sure that Jake and Johnny are okay.” – Answered Diana.

-“Good. I was going to ask you to drive back home…”

-“I’m not going towards your house. I’m driving to the hospital. If something happened they should be there. If they aren’t, I’m going to ask them to send an ambulance just in case.”

-“That’s good thinking.”

                Diana reached the hospital and parked behind a black car with a broken window. A trail of blood from the car to the entrance was visible. Diana took Stephanie’s hand and ran inside. A nurse ran towards them.

-“Oh, gosh! Not another werewolf attack, I hope!” – Said the nurse as she ran towards the girls.

                Both the girls started talking at the same time, and all the nurse could understand was the word ‘werewolves’.

-“Girls, I can’t understand what you’re saying! One at a time, please!” – Asked the nurse.

-“My boyfriend and her brother, he’s with another one of our friends. We’re looking for them…” – Said Diana.

-“Oooh! Are you family of Jake Johnson?”

-“Yes!” – Yelled the girls in unison.

-“Well, the doctors are attending Johnny. They are confident that he will be all right. Jake’s drinking a bit of coffee in the doctor’s lunge, if you want I can take you to him.” – Said the nurse, and without waiting for an answer lead the girls to the doctor’s lunge.

                Jake sat in a plastic chair sipping coffee from a plastic cup, in front of a barred window. The girls ran to him and hugged him. Jake was caught by surprise and spilled the coffee all over the floor.

-“What are you two doing here?” – He asked hugging them back.

-“We were so worried!” – Exclaimed the girls in unison.

-“I was worried about you two, too…”- Said Jake giving Stephanie a kiss on top of her head and one to Diana on the lips.

                In that moment a doctor walked in. The doctor coughed to get the trio’s attention, and when he got it he said:

-“Johnny will be all right for now. We’d like to keep him over for observation just to make sure.” – The trio sighed and smiled in relief. And the doctor continued: -“He is awake now, saying something about being sorry for the burnt macaroni and cheese…”

                The trio laughed and followed the doctor to where Johnny was. Johnny was laying on a gurney with an IV and different machines. From his shoulder to his tummy he was completely bandaged.

-“Dudes! You’re all okay!” – He yelled when he saw Jake, Stephanie and Diana walking towards him.

-“Dude, you’re actually the only one messed up!” – Yelled Stephanie back.

-“Come here, drawf!” – Yelled Johnny to Stephanie. She ran towards him and sat on the gurney. Johnny pulled her closer to him and messed up her hair. –“That’s for being so silly!”

                Stephanie laughed with teary eyes. It was one of those moments when you don’t know if you should just laugh or cry. Jake stood next to his friend and said:

-“Dude, do you remember what you promised me if you got out of this?”

                Johnny laughed.

-“Never again, neither bunnies or Park Avenue. But can I mention Broadwalk?”

                Everybody laughed. They had survived an encounter with the werewolves… Soon, they would have to do it again…
