Stephanie screamed, but she didn’t moved. It was as if her feet were glued to the floor. Something pushed her out of the werewolf’s path and Stephanie fell to the floor. She stood from the floor and looked back. Johnny was hitting the werewolf with the tiny silver bat. The second werewolf, circled Johnny and trapped him in a corner of the room.

Jake took Stephanie from the floor and carried her to the window where Diana still waited. Jake pushed Stephanie out of the window and Diana took her on her arms. Jake looked back and saw that Johnny was still fighting the werewolves.

-“Take the car. The keys are in a flower pot in the balcony. Take Stephanie to your Aunt’s. I’ll meet you there.” – Said Jake.

-“Jake no!” – Yelled Stephanie crying.

                Jake blew a kiss at both the girls and closed the window. Both of the girls screamed and begged Jake to get out, but he ignored them. He had to help his best friend.

-“Dude! Get out!” – Yelled Johnny. –“I’ve got this!”

-“I want some of that action!” – Yelled Jake as he took a knife he had been hiding under his pillow.

                Jake moved towards the werewolves and slashed the ash colored one.  The werewolf turned around and snarled at Jake. Jake jump back and avoided being bitten. But that move was enough for the werewolf to realize that two tasty girls had escaped through the windows. The werewolf moved towards the window, and the girls that had still been screaming at Jake had to run.

 Diana was the first one to jump towards the ground, after all she had done it a thousand times to get out of her house. Stephanie jumped right behind her, and Diana caught her. Diana told Stephanie to get the key of the car and she did. Both of them ran towards the car as the werewolf smashed the glass window and jumped behind them. Jake jumped behind the werewolf and slashed it again. The werewolf hit Jake with the back of its paw and ran towards the car. The girls screamed as Diana turned the ignition on and hit the accelerator.  The car was quickly on the street and Diana hit the gas. The werewolf howled in frustration and ran after the car. The other werewolf jumped from the window with blood on his snout and ran after the ash colored one.

Jake stood up, dizzy. He ran inside towards his room, hoping that Johnny was all right. When Jake entered the house the first thing he noticed was that the werewolves had taken the trouble of breaking everything in their path. Jake took the stairs two or three at the time and entered his room. Johnny was laying in a pool of blood, in the same corner where he had fought the werewolves. Jake called his best friend’s name and he didn’t answer. Jake walked towards him and slowly turned him around. Johnny had a long slash from his left shoulder to his belly. Blood was flowing from the triple slash. Jake tried to shake Johnny awake, but Johnny didn’t answer.

-“Common, dude! You gotta wake up. I swear I’ll never kid you around anymore; not after what you did for Steph. Please, wake up!” – Tears began flowing from Jake’s eyes. – “Common, Johnny! Wake up!! Please! I’ll take you to the freaking hospital and I swear to God, I’ll never bother you about your cooking again.”

                Johnny coughed twice and opened his eyes slowly.

-“Dude, if I get out of this one: I’ll never mention bunnies or Park Avenue again.”

                Jake smiled and said:

-“Stay here, okay. I’m going to go see if I can find a car to take you to the hospital.”

-“Sure, as if I could move…” – Said Johnny followed by another cough.

                Jake ran out of the house and knocked on the neighbors’ door. There was no answer. He tried another two houses when he finally gave up. He ran towards the first car he saw and with his elbow smashed the window of the driver’s seat.  Luckily for him, the neighbor was one of those people that always had a spare key in the drawer next to the driver’s sit. He drove the car to his driveway and let the car there while he picked Johnny. Johnny was already unconscious when Jake came back to his room. With strength he didn’t know he had, Jake picked up Johnny and carried him to the car. He drove as fast as he could to the Emergency Room, light reds and stop signs had lost all meaning that night. He parked the car almost at the entrance of the hospital and started honking the horn of the car. A curious nurse poked her head through the mechanical doors.

-“I need help. Quickly!” – yelled Jake opening the door to where Johnny was laying.

                The nurse quickly ran outside and took Johnny’s legs. She yelled for help and another nurse came running with a gurney. Between the first nurse and Jake, they put Johnny on the gurney. A doctor came running too.

-“What happened?” – asked the doctor.

-“Werewolves, two of them attacked us. I tried to get my sister and girlfriend out of the house and one of them followed the girls. I went after it, and after the girls had gotten in the car the two werewolves left following the car’s direction. I went back into the house and found him like this.” – Explained Jake as fast as he could.

-“Are you family?” – Asked the doctor.

-“He’s my brother…”
