“I can’t believe that today we find out the sex of the baby.” My Captor said.

I kept thinking I should ask for his name but I knew that it would just mess everything up.

I wonder if they think I know his name.

“Yes, I know. I’m very, very nervous.”

“Don’t be, every thing will be fine.”

We were in the blue truck again heading to the doctor’s. I wanted to put off finding out the sex of my child as long as I could; I got to be six months before my Captor could wait no longer.

I thought it was rather funny, he lived in a mansion but drove this old, blue pick up truck. Its weird how things can be so strange and yet feel, well, kind of normal.

When we got to the doctor’s office we were early so we had to wait for a while. I began thinking about my friends. What did they think had happen to me?

Police are outside the high school making an announcement.

“We have not been able to find Mary Moor. We will not give up our search but the chances of finding her after all these months are almost impossible. Mary’s mother has asked for a service to be held for her in one week’s time. You are all dismissed.”

“Oh God,” May said. She turns and throws herself into Brian’s arms; he holds her and kisses the top of her head.

“She’s out there, I know it.” Sue says and puts her hand on May’s back.

“I should have insisted that she come back with us. It’s all my fault.”

“No!” May shot up her head, “No Brian it’s not; some sick creep took her. It could have happened to anyone.”

“I think she ran away.” Sue said. She was staring at the corner where they had all been last. “I think she’s happy.”

“Congratulations, it’s a boy.” The doctor said.

My Captor seemed shocked, which I had expected if it was a boy I was going to have.

“Oh,” he said.

I smiled, I was relieved. Now they can’t do anything for a very long time.

“A boy,” I whispered.
