Aoki got inside of her call and laid her head back. “Oh my God, I hope Xavier isn’t upset with me”, she thought to herself. She didn’t want to mess up something good that just happened in her life. She thought if she should get out and apologize or should she just call later. “I’ll just apologize tonight at dinner”, she said to herself. She sat up in the seat and buckled up. She started to car, reversed out the parking spot, and drove off.

“So X, you and Aoki are something serious”, asked Arnold when Xavier walked? Xavier jumped up and sat down on the picnic table beside Arnold. “Yeah, we are. I love that girl a lot”, said Xavier as he played with his hands. “I understand what you mean, but Gena and I are having problems”, said Arnold as he looked down at his feet. “What’s going on”? “She’s accusing me of cheating on her with Brandy”. “I thought you and Brandy were friends”. “We are X, I can’t get her to understand that”. “Do you like Brandy”? “Yeah, but not in that way”. “Arnold, you used to have a big crush on Brandy”. “Yeah I know, but after I hook-up with Gena…I lost that sort of interest in her”. “Have you talked to Brandy about it”? “No and I don’t plan on talking to her about it”. “Why man”. “Because all this shit is really aggravating me”, said Arnold with anger in his voice. “Calm down Arnold, it was just a question”, said Xavier as he put his hand on Arnold’s shoulder. “My bad, I didn’t mean to take it out on you”. “It’s okay. Well I got to go home and get ready for me and Aoki’s dinner tonight”, said Xavier as he jumped off the table and grabbed his books. “Alright, well I’ll talk to you later then”. “Yeah, bye”. “Bye”. They give eachother their hand slap and Xavier started walking home.

Aoki pulled up to her house and got out. She decided to let her bags stay in the car until later. She walked into the house. It was quiet. She walked over to the coffee table. There was a letter there from her mother.

Aoki, your brother and I are gone to the grocery store and then we’re gonna go see Grandma. Call my cell phone if you need me. Love you!!!

She read it and put it back down on the table. She ran upstairs and walked into her room. She walked over to her stereo and turned on the radio. Fergie’s song “Clumsy” was playing. She laughed because that was he favorite song. She walked over to her closet and looked for her blue jean skirt and blue jean half jacket. Then she walked over to her drawer and pulled out a white tank top. She also got out her bra and underwear.

She walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower water. She undressed, put a hair bag over her hair, and stepped in the water.

Once she was done, she wrapped a towel around her and took off the hair bag. She placed it over the shower head. Then she walked over to sink and wiped off the steam on the mirror. She got her toothbrush and toothpaste. She brushed her teeth.

She walked back in her room and got dressed. B5’s song “Hydrolics” was playing. She started dancing as she lotion her legs. She grabbed her fingernail polish box and searched for a color to paint her toes. She chose her favorite color which was dark blue. She started to paint her toes when the telephone rung. She hopped over to phone as she closing the polish.

Aoki: Hello?

Xavier: Hey Aoki.

Aoki: Oh hey Xavier, I’m glad you called. I wanted to apologize for acting the way I did today.

Xavier: It’s all good. I called to ask what’s your favorite food?

Aoki: I like Italian food, but it’s up to you.

Xavier: No, I’m gonna cook whatever you want. Would you like spaghetti and garlic bread?

Aoki: Sure, sounds good.

Xavier: Okay, well see you later.

Aoki: Alright, bye.

Xavier: Bye, I love you.

Aoki: -silence-

Xavier: Hello…Aoki…are you there?

Aoki: Ye…yea…I can’t believe you said that you love me again.

Xavier: Well I do Aoki and believe that.

Aoki: Okay I will and I love you too.

Xavier: That’s what I wanted to hear. Bye baby

Aoki: Bye.

Aoki begin to smile harder than ever. She started back painting her toes fast, but trying not mess it up.

She rushed over to her mirror and applied her make-up, pearl color lip gloss, and black lip liner.

She grabbed her white flip-flops and held them in her hand as she turned off her stereo. She ran downstairs barefooted for her toenail polish to dry. She turned over the note her mother wrote and wrote a note to her mom.

Hey Mom, I’m gone over a friend’s house for dinner. See you later tonight, Love you…bye!!!

She slid on her flip-flops easily, trying not to mess up her toes. Then she ran outside to the car. She hopped in, buckled up, reversed out the drive-way, and drove down the road.

Xavier dimmed the lights in the house and started to light candles. He turned on a slow R&B music CD. As the last thing was cooking, which was the garlic bread, he ran to his room and got ready.

He dressed in his denim jeans, a white wife beater shirt, and a brown Polo Ralph Lauren shirt. She pulled on her black Air Force ones and sprayed some Armani Black Code cologne on him. He pulled his hair back in a ponytail and walked back in the kitchen. He took out the garlic bread and sat it on top of the stove. He started fixing the plates and putting them on the table.

Aoki pulled up to Xavier house and turned off her car. She sat in the car for about five minutes fixing herself up for the last time. She fumbled through her purse for her perfume. She sprayed her Mariah Carey perfume on her and got out the car. She took a deep breath and walked up to the front door. She rung the doorbell.

Xavier heard the doorbell and put the forks on the plates. He walked to the front door and opened it…
