Which Side Are You On? *Part 25*

"Yes. What happened back there did little damage to him. It’s just put him in a deep sleep."

"Like a coma?"

"Sort of. I guess that’s what you’d call it, but it shouldn’t be long before he wakes up; as soon as all his injuries have healed."

"B-but how?" She stutters dumbfounded. "Damien pierced him through the heart."

"How he’s alive is of no importance to you," he says secluding her.

"No, I want to know."

"Look-"

"No, you look. I’ve been brought into this mess unwillingly so I expect to be told everything. I deserve to. I have the right to know," she says while raising her voice more and more as each word leaves her lips.

"Okay. I should’ve known you wouldn’t back down so easily…Well, not at all." He smiles a crooked smile and shakes his head. "You are a very hard-headed girl, you know." A moment passed as he collected his thoughts. "Hmm…Well, I don’t know exactly how to put it-"

"I don’t care! Explain it!" Sovira interrupts him. She was yelling now.

"Ahem," he pretends to clear his throat. "But, if you would be so kind as to let me finish what I was saying, I will try." He had an annoyed expression on his face.

"Sorry," she says apologetically.

"Even though I believe you are better off not knowing this, and really you are better off not knowing anything about Syth…," he says in a detached voice as if hiding something.

"I don’t-"

"Either way, I said I’d try to explain it so I will," he says stressing out the ‘either way’ as if he were getting annoyed with Sovira’s constant interruptions.

She knew he was and she knew she had just rudely interrupted him again. She honestly didn’t know that he wasn’t finished. She expected he was trying to delay the answer, what she wanted to know, or just completely not tell her at all. At least that’s how most of the people are here; mysterious and leaving her curious and wondering with no answers as to what is going on. Only Ahx seemed to be different. He was the only one who really ever gave her answers to her army of a hundred questions. And her army was building up more and more with each delayed answer.

"First off, as you know, Syth is part vampire and part demon. But he is only a fourth of each," he begins.

"So there’s two other things that he is? Or just one?" she asks curiously.

That other something must be why he isn’t dead. What is it?

"Yes, there are two, but that’s not where I’m getting at. There’s also something else. Something the devil has cursed him with."
