Which Side Are You On? *Part 18*

She gasps, "Ka…Karamys?! You…You’re okay?! I’m okay. Wha-"

"Relax. We should eat first, and then we’ll talk."

"But I’m not hungry. So lets talk now," she says and walks up to him looking him in the eyes. "What all happened back there? And where am I? What is going on?"

"Alright. Then we’ll talk," he says and walks over to one of the flowery chairs and sits down.

Sovira also sits in one of the chairs then says, "I want answers. And please tell me the truth."

"Don’t worry. You can trust me." He takes a deep breath and sighs, "Well, first of all the reason you aren’t injured is because I healed you. And about what happened back there…Well that’s a little difficult to say."

"Please, tell me. I don’t care how difficult it is to say. Just tell me what’s going on, please?" She begs.

"Alright. Well, for some reason Syth turned into that…thing you saw me fighting and-"

"Why were you two fighting in the first place? What were you doing there? Are you a demon too? Then why have you been in my world?"

"Ahx called me and told me what happened and asked me to help so I went to his mansion. I tried talking it out with Syth, but he attacked me so we ended up getting into a fight. Yes, I am a demon. And to answer your other question, the reason I was in your world is because Ahx’s cousin, Damien, has run off again. We don’t know where he is at. He could be in our world, or in yours. So, because of him I have been on lookout in your world."

"Oh…" She murmurs, thinking about all of it. Is it all true? This is all so crazy. What have I been brought into? "Oh, thanks for healing me. Hmm…Where are we now, Karamys?"

"My actual mansion in the demon world."

"Oh."

"I believe that answers all your questions now. You alright?"

"……" She stays silent.

"You must be in shock from all this. If you want, I can leave and give you a few minutes to yourself to think." He stands up and gets ready to leave.

"No. Please don’t leave me alone," Sovira says while standing up, running over to him, and grabbing his arm. "I don’t understand what’s going on. I’m scared." A tear falls down her cheek.

"A beautiful girl like you shouldn’t cry. Come on now, cheer up." He lifts her chin up with his thumb and index finger. He smiles and says, "Everything will get better soon. Really soon, I’m sure. Now put a smile on that pretty face."

She tries to force a smile on, but she couldn’t. She burst into tears. She couldn’t stand anymore. She couldn’t take all this pain. All the demons, the vampires, and these…monsters. She didn’t like being in a world full of confusion and things she didn’t know or understand. How was she suppose to be strong enough for all this? Could she? She wondered if she was even good enough to stop the demon behind her heartache and suffering.

She has a hard life now. One that’s too hard for her. Her life had become a living hell. Everyone she loves was dying around her and all she could do was watch. The only one she really has left is Markus. But she couldn’t even see him. Something always came up. There was always something in the way.

Karamys puts his arms around her and holds her close to his chest.

"Everything will be okay, Sovira. I promise you," he says, trying to comfort her.

Why was he being so nice? He barely even knows me and he acts like he cares so much. Heh…Who am I kidding? He’s a demon. Demon’s don’t care about humans. Do they? I don’t know, but I’ve always thought there was something odd about Karamys. I just can’t figure out what. He seems really open about everything, yet there is something mysterious about him. Wait a second, Sovira thought. If he was helping Ahx then why aren’t I with him instead of here? Something’s wrong.

"Karamys?" She says pulling away from his embrace.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"Why am I here and not at Ahx’s?

"Oh…Well, because of Syth’s problem. Ahx wants you to steer clear for awhile. He asked me if I would take care of you and watch you ‘til then."

"Oh. You know, I remember what you said before. How people don’t accept you for what you are. I don’t know why. There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re a really great person."

"Yeah, that’s what you think for now."

It stays silent for awhile. Sovira thinks about what he said and what he could mean. Is there something wrong with him? He’s mysterious. That’s all I know. I wish I knew how. I wish he would just let me in. Hmm…

"Markus!" She yells all of a sudden while remembering her boyfriend. "I need to go home."

"What? Who is Markus?" Karamys asks curiously.

"My boyfriend. The one I was telling you about before. I haven’t seen him in days!"

"Yeah…I remember now," he says sadly.

"Can you take me to see him? Can you take me home please?"

"Where does he live?"

She tells him. "So can you take me there?"

"Not right now. The demon who is after you could be there. And Damien might also be there. With two demons on the loose in your world I think it’s best if you stay here where it’s safe."

"Safe?! You think here is safe? You think I should stay in a world of demons, rather than a world of humans with only two demons?"

"They are very dangerous demons. At least here you are protected."

"Then take me to see Markus and protect me there," she pleads.

"I can’t do that."

"Ugh…Why not?"

"I’ll take you to Ahx’s later, then maybe he’ll take you."

"K…" She says disappointed.

"Come with me now. There is someone I want you to meet," he says exiting the room.

She follows him out of the room and through a long hallway to huge double doors. He opens them and they walk into a big room. What looks to be a family room or some kind of get-together room. There was a man sitting in a chair there.

"Hello Draegon," Karamys says to the man.

"Hello Karamys," the man replies. "So who have you brought me to play with today?"

"Huh?" She says confused while trying to figure out this dark, scary looking man.

"Draegon, this is Sovira. Sovira, this is Draegon," Karamys introduces them.

"Oh. So you’re the one people can’t keep off their mind, huh? It’s very nice to finally meet you," Draegon says creepily and chuckles.

"Um…You too."

What is up with this guy? I don’t know, and I don’t like this vibe I’m getting from him. One thing is for sure, he is not normal. Something is very unusual about him.

"That’s a little rude, don’t you think?" Draegon says as if he read her mind. He stands up and starts walking towards her.

"I’m…sorry?" She says in fear. She takes one step back every time he takes one towards her.

"What, are you afraid of me?" He laughs.

"Well, I’ve got to go get some business finished. I’ll be back later. You guys get to know each other." Karamys says while walking to the double doors and opening them. "Oh," He turns his head back, "Play nice you two." He winks and exits, closing the doors behind him.

"Play nice?" She says confused.

She turns back to Draegon but he no longer looked his normal self. He had black wings outstretched on his back. He started walking closer to her.

"Don’t be afraid. I won’t play too rough," he laughs.
