(huff, huff, huff) "That was too close." Sovira says sitting on the guest bed in Ahx's house holding the necklace he gave her.
"Well, at least you're safe now," Syth says smiling. He's leaning against the bed post.
"Syth," Sovira says relieved.
"You just couldn't stay way, could you?"
"That's not it."
"It's okay, really. I know you can't resist me," he smirks and sits down beside her, placing his hand on her thigh.
She looks up and glares at him. "Syth, do you want me to hurt you?" She says and pushes his hand off of her.
He chuckles, "I don't know, I might like that." He smiles. "Show me what you've got."
Sovira stares at him confused. "Syth, I," she stops.
"What is it, Sovira? You're back earlier than expected."
"You knew I was coming now though, didn't you? That's why you were already in here."
He smiles and looks at her. "Actually, I was just thinking about you and I was worried."
"Don't lie. You Barely know me."
"Alright, you got me. You know, you're smart. I like that about you."
Sovira looks down at the floor and it's silent for awhile.
"Sovira, what happened? Did he hurt anyone else you care about?"
"Syth, no offense, but I want to talk to Ahx," she looks up at him, "I'd feel more comfortable."
"No offense taken. I'm used to this kind of treatment."
"No, I didn't mean it like-"
"It's fine. Like I said, I'm used to it. After all I'm not exactly what you call a good guy, or innocent, or anyone that deserves better treatment. The way I am, it's fine. I deserve to be treated worse."
"Syth, don't say that. You're a nice guy. It's not your fault that you all of a sudden-"
"Turn into a freak? A monster?"
"Syth, it's okay. You have people that care about you."
He laughs, "But sometimes I wonder if I care about them."
"What? Syth, how can you say that? They're your family."
"Family isn't always important. I don't love them, and that's not because of my curse. I'm not a good person. I like seeing people get hurt. I like making them bleed, listening to them scream in fear and pain, and watching them die slowly and painfully. That's the kind of person I am, Sovira. And if you stay here for long I'll end up hurting you."
"Syth..."
"How can you still feel sorry for me? Look, I'm warning you. You do whatever you want. I won't stop you."
"Syth, you're Ahx's brother so no matter what as long as I'm here I will help take care of you."
"I can take care of myself," he says in an angry tone.
"I don't care what you say. Everyone needs someone. We-"
"I don't need anyone! What can anyone ever do for me?" He says with sorrow and pain in his eyes.
"Syth.."
"What?" He looks her in the eyes.
"I..I can-" She puts her hands on his cheeks, leans in closer to him, and kisses him softly, tongue in all, for a short thirty seconds, then Syth pulls away.
"Aaaaaahh!" He yells holding his head.
"Syth! What's wrong?!" Sovira yells terrified.
"No, get away! You don't know what you're doing! Go away! Ugh...aaah!"
"Syth, I'm sorry. What's happening?"
"Syth! What happened?" Says Ahx as he rushes in the room over to Syth on the bed. He looks over to Sovira, just now noticing her. "Sovira? Oh, no. Sovira, go into the kitchen. I'll be right down."
"Ahx, I'm sorry. I don't know what happened."
"Just go. Don't worry about it. Now! Go!"
"Aaaaaaaaah! Ugh...Aaaah! Graaa!" Syth growls.
Oh my gosh. What have i done? Just what exactly is Syth? What's wrong with him? I didn't mean to hurt him. She thinks to herself as she walks to the kitchen and sits down. I hope he's alright. What happened? Why has my life all of the sudden gotten so weird? Sometimes I wonder if I'm dreaming. I don't even know why I kissed him. I have a boyfriend and I don't even think of Syth that way. Do I? No, of course not. It was just a weird moment and it all happened so fast. BOOM!
Sovira gasps, What was that?!" She says while jumping to her feet.
"Come, Sovira. Follow me," says Hermione, who has just entered the kitchen.
"What's going on?" Sovira asks.
"He has come. We must hide, Sovira. Come with me," Hermione begs, reaching out her hand.
Sovira takes her hand and follows her, knowing that something terrible must be among them, and asking questions is just going to have to wait. Hermione leads her down a flight of stairs, down a long, dark hallway, and into a room. It seemed to be a sitting area, very quiet and cold. She walks up to a picture on the wall and presses it in three different places. Something clicks and the sound of a moving wall can be heard close by. They walk back out of the room to the end of the hallway where there used to be a wall, but now an entrance to a room. They walk in and Sovira takes a seat on the sofa there. Hermione snaps her fingers, and the wall moves again, covering up the entrance. She then sits next to Sovira on the sofa.
"What's going on?" Sovira asks.
"I'm not supposed to say anything. Ahx is the only one who can tell you," Hermione answers in a sweet, sorrowful tone.
"But why? Why does it matter if you tell me? It can't hurt, I'm sure."
"I'm sorry, Sovira. I promised."
"It can't wait! This is important! I want to know what I've gotten dragged into! What happened to Syth?! And what was that loud boom?! Answer me, please!"
“Ugh…I guess you’re right. I don’t know what happened to Syth though. I’ve never seen him like that. Not once. So I’m scared too. I hope my brother is alright. The loud noise…that was the guy who is after you. I don’t remember his name. I feel sorry for him though. He wasn’t always like this, you know. He’s just had a really rough life. He used to play with me all the time when I was little. I still remember it so freshly like it was only yesterday. We were all happy then.”
“What happened? What caused him to change like this? Why does he do this now?”
“I don’t really know. His family I think. But I’m not sure.”
“You think maybe I could talk to him?”
“He might kill you.”
“I don’t care. It’s better than him killing the one’s that I love.”
“True. Then do what you believe. Go up there if you want, or stay down here where it is safe.”
“I’m going,” Sovira says with confidence.
“Good luck, Sovira.”
“Thank you.”
