Which Side Are You On? *Part 13*

There were two huge tornados headed their way, and they were only a few hundred feet away.

"Karamys! What do we do!?" Sovira yells terrified.

"Come! We must hurry to cover!" He yells and grabs her hand, pulling her along with him.

He rushes through a hallway and down a flight of stairs which leads into the basement.

"We'll have to stay here a while. Let's wait for it to die down," he says and lets go of her hand.

"Die down! Did you see that!? We are no more than dead! Those things are headed striaght towards us!" She yells at the top of her lungs.

"Sovira. Do you trust me?"

"What?"

"We'll be alright. They won't hit here," he says confidently.

How can he be so confident? They're tornadoes. And abnormal tornadoes at that. Those things were bigger than any I've ever seen or heard of. What if they do hit here? He doesn't know that they won't.

"How can you be so sure? They were so close when we looked."

"Sovira, do you trust me? Just answer yes or no."

"I...uh..Well, I haven't known you long enough."

"Sovira! Yes or no! Quickly!"

"Yes! Yes, I trust you! Okay?! Why? Karamys, what is it?"

"I need to go upstairs. You wait here and I promise you I will be back in a minute." At that he takes off for the stairs.

"Karamys! Wait! You'll get yourself killed! What are you doing?!" She yells at him, but it was already too late. He was up the stairs before she could say anything.

A few seconds pass....

"Karamys, please don't die," she whispers under her breath.

"Die? Now why would I do a thing like that?" Karamys says with a smlie on his face. He was standing at the bottom of the stairs.

"Karamys!" She yells, running to him and embracing him tightly. "You're alright. What did you do?!"

"I just went up to see where the tornados were. They changed track so we're alright now, but I feel sorry for anyone who is in their path now," he says, hugging her back.

"That note! They must be after someone! Karamys, I gotta go! I need to call my parents! We'll talk later, okay?" She says and heads for the front door.

"Wait, let me walk you! It's dangerous out there!" He says, but she was already out the door. "Damnit!"

It takes her about forty minutes to get home, and right when she walks in the door her phonerings so she hurries over to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Sovira? Is that you!? Where've you been?!" Answers Markus.

"Markus! It's so good to talk to someone familiar! I have to tell you everything, but I'd rather talk in person so why don't you come over here? Oh! And I need to call my parents so I'll do that while you're on your way. Is that okay with you?"

Markus keeps silent.

"Markus, did you hear me?"

"Yeah, uh..Sovira, we need to talk."

"Then hurry and get over here."

"No, I need to talk to you now. It's very important. Have you watched the news at all today?"

"No. I haven't had the time. Why?"

"Well, during the big tornados, they were talking about how they had no idea how they formed. It's unreal and they say there will be more."

"Yeah, if I don't stop it."

"That and...wait! Stop it? How?"

"I'll explain everything later. What were you saying?"

"Well..uh..how do I say this. Sovira, the tornadoes....
