Which Side Are You On? *Part 12*

"It's like Halloween. Doesn't the haunted look scare you?" Sovira asks.

He chuckles, "No, I actually like it. It suits me."

They walk inside and the inside seemed to look even scarier than the outside. Sovira gives Karamys a weird look.

"Something wrong?" He asks.

"Hm? Nothing. Just thinking."

"Well, here is the kitchen. You can sit down until I get the food ready if you would like or watch something in the living room."

"Can I help?"

"Yeah, that would be nice," he says and smiles.

He gets all the ingredients out and sets the oven to 375 degrees.

"So what are we making?" Sovira asks.

"You'll see," he smiles at her. "It's my specialty."

"Alright. Teach me," she smiles back.

He shows her how to fix it and lets her try some things on her own. They take about thirty mintues getting it ready and while it's in the oven for another thirty minutes they sit and talk until it's done. Karamys takes it out of the over and gets two plates ready and gives one to Sovira.

"What would you like to drink?" Asks Karamys.

"Cream soda. Do you have it?"

"Yeah," he says opening the fridge.

He grabs a coke and a cream soda and hands the cream soda to her. They walk over to the dining room and sit at a big table. It's not as big as Ahx's, but it was still pretty big. They sat in front of each other at the table.

"You don't look very comfortable," Karamys says breaking the silence. "Something the matter?"

"Oh, no. I'm just thinking. Does anybody else live here?"

"No, it's just me," he says with a sad look on his face. "I'm hoping one day I will find someone to share it with, but I doubt that will happen."

"Why is that?" Sovira asks.

"People don't really except me for the way I am."

"What do you mean? You seem pretty nice to me. I actually kind of like you."

"Yeah, for now," he says and smirks at her.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure you'll find someone." She smiles. "If I didn't have a boyfriend I would date you......Mmmm, this food is delicious. I've never tasted anything like it. It's got a sweet, fruity taste to it. What is it?"

Karamys gives her a funny look after she says she has a boyfriend then finally says, "It's my specialty. It's a secret. You won't find it anywhere else." He eyeballs her up and down for a few seconds, "So, who is your boyfriend?"

"You might know him. How old are you?"

"I'm 19. And you?"

"Seventeen. My boyfriend is eighteen. What school did you go to?"

"School? I never went to school."

"You didn't?" Sovira asks puzzled.

"Why should I? They don't teach you anything. It's a waste of life and everyone there is just so stupid," he says with a frustrated look on his face.

Sovira just looks at him surprised. He hasn't had a great life has he? I feel sorry for him. His parents must have been assholes.

Karamys smiles at Sovira. "That's a pretty necklace. Where did you get it?"

"A friend that moved away gave it to me," Sovira lies.

He starts eyeballing her again.

"What is it? Why are you looking at me like that? Is something wrong?" She asks.

"I don't know. Something's just not right about you."

"What do you mean?" She asks confused.

"Wait! Listen!" He says looking worried.

"I don't hear any-"

"Shh! Follow me." He says and gets up.

He quickly rushes over to a small room with a table and a couple of chairs. She follows slowly behind trying to keep quiet so maybe she could hear it too.

"What is this?" He says and picks up a note which was placed on the table. He reads it out loud....

-Karamys. Look outside your window-

He drops the note and looks outside. His eyes get wide. Sovira also looks out the window and gasps.
