Which Side Are You On? *Part 9*

Wow! His room is so big. It's like ten times bigger than my room at home. It's freakin' huge! Where does he get all this money?

"Simple darling, he steals it," A dark familiar voice pops in her head leaving chills down her spine.

"Not again," she says and notices a piece of paper on the coffee table in front of the couch.

She goes to pick it up but Ahx was already there. I didn't even see him come in.

"What is this?" Ahx asks himself and opens the note.

"What does it say?" Sovira asks. "Ahx?"

"It doesn't matter," he says and rips it up. "Nothing important."

"I had a note like that one before. What did it say, Ahx?"

"He's after you too isn't he?" He asks while pouring tea into two cups which he brought with him. "Here." He hands her a cup.

"Who?" She asks, taking the cup and sipping it. "Ow! That's hot."

"What did your note say?"

He never listens does he? He's starting to remind me of that guy I met at the park. Wait! That's it. That night! At the fair!

"Who did you meet at the park? What did he look like?"

"It's you! I know who you are! You're the guy I saw at the fair that night! And you keep reading my mind. What is it with you?! Who are you?! What are you?! How do you do that?! And where in the hell am I?!" Sovira yells angrily because no one will answer her questions.

"Alright, I guess it's about time I told you the truth. If I'm going to help you then it's best you know it. I, along with everyone else here in this mansion and in this world are demons. Some are a bit different, but most are demons. And some are born with more powerful demon genes, so some are more powerful than others. We aren't all the same. And we each have different powers. And this world...is a-"

"Demon world? Sovira says staring at him blankly.

"Yes. I'm a demon, my sister Hermione is a demon, Sariin, Damien, and Quintessa are all demons also. And then Syth.." He says and then stops himself from going on any further.

"Then Syth what? He's partially demon and vampire both, isn't he? He was going to bite me."

"Kind of, but a bit more than that. I'll tell you this though, Syth is only 1/4 vampire. The rest doesn't matter right now. I don't want to scare you too bad."

"Oh, come on. I'm not even scared at the fact that I'm sitting in a demon's room with a demon in a demon world. Just tell me."

"Sovira, Syth is different from most of us here on this world. We're brothers and we both have the same parents, but Syth is different. Before he was born he was given something that will affect him for the rest of his life. His eternal life."

"But how is he different? I want to know."

"You only think that. If you truly knew you would be afraid to even be in the same house as him. Even though I am his older brother and I may not show it, but even I am terrified of him. But he is my brother and no matter what I will stay by his side."

"Wow. So it's really that bad, huh? Okay..So what did the note say? I'll tell you if you tell me." She says and smiles innocently.

"Hmm..okay." He says and tells her.

"You know him? Is he really your friend?"

"He used to be a really close friend. He was like my brother. But then he killed the one I loved, Romara. Now I only think of him as an enemy."

"I'm sorry." She tells him what her first two notes said. "Both of them scared the shit out of me."

"That has to be him. If you get anymore notes like that let me know. Here is a crystal amulent." He sasy pulling out a necklace from his pocket. "This will let you return home or here whenever you wish to. You just have to think of the place and you will appear there."

"It's that easy?" She asks and pulls her hair out of the way to let him put it on her.

"Yes, it's the portal through all the worlds in one tiny crystal, yet simple enough for a kid to use."

"Hehehe...You just sounded like one of those salespeople on a commercial," Sovira says laughing.

"Hahaha. Yeah, I did. So you think I did good?"

"Hehe...You did great.....So how do you know I won't use it before tomorrow morning?"

"I trust you not to."

Sovira smiles. Wow. He trusts me. I've barely known him and he trusts me.

"Ahx, why did you help me that day you found me on the road?"

"I felt I had to. It's my old friend who is toying with you, and I've seen enough die because of his stupid, immature, cruel games! It's gonna stop and I'll make sure I put an end to him!"

"Did he do this to Romara?"

"Yes, and many before her. And each time it gets uglier. He tries to cause as much emotional pain as he can, and every time it gets worse and he causes more. He likes seeing people hurt that way."

"And then the victims get so tired of it they kill themsleves?"

"Yes, exactly. It's sick and cruel."

"Yeah, I've thought about it..." She says and trails off in thought.

"Well, don't. It's only what he wants. You can stop him by being stronger than this, stronger than him. Don't let him get to you no matter how hard it gets, okay? We are here with you to help. We will stay by your side to help, just don't give up."

"Of course not." She smiles. "So is he a normal demon?" She asks curiously.

"No. He's half demon, half devil."

"Who's worse? Him or Syth?"

Talking about race?"

"Yeah."

"Syth. But he's a good person whether he likes to show it or not."

"How come you both are named after weapons?" She asks, laughing.

"Yeah...My father did that to make us sound tough and scary. Did it work?"

"Deffinately! When I first heard about you and Syth I thought I was done for." They both start laughing.

"I'm sorry to break the laughter, but there is something I've been meaning to tell you since you awoke," says Ahx with sorrow and uneasiness in his eyes.
