“I need water.” Alexis huffed as she lay down on the couch. It was the end of May and she was ready for the baby to be born. She was already at the nine month mark and the baby would just not come. One reason she wanted the baby to be born already was that it was 100 degrees outside. She had to stay inside most of the day. She couldn’t stand staying inside all day. The only way she could go outside and stay cool is to go on the boat. Ryan would let her on the boat because he didn’t want her going into labor again on the boat. Even though she was in the house it was still pretty hot. All Brooke and Peyton wanted to do was play outside and go swimming. Alexis really wished that she could be out there with them but she could barely move. She decided to just lie on the couch and watch TV. It would have been nice if her best friend could come over and keep her company but that wasn’t going to happen. Once James and Amanda got back from their honeymoon they didn’t waste any time moving in to their house. It seemed that in the last month they never came out of the house. She understood because that was the way her and Ryan were. Alexis was watching TV when Ryan came in and sat on the couch with her. “Hey babe how are you feeling?”
“Like hell”
“I’m sorry what can I do to make you feel better.” “Strip me!”
“Well I would but the kids are here.” “I know how about make me go into labor.” “How would I do that?” “We can go for a walk?”
“It’s too hot.” “Or we can have sex?”
“But the kids are here.” “Well so is Rodger. Have him take them over to your parents’ house or out to the lake.” “Okay that sounds like plan.” “And hurry because I could go into labor before you get your last chance at me.” “Okay I’m running.” Ryan laughed as he went to get Rodger. Ryan told Rodger that he had to help Alexis do something and that it would be better without the kids. He didn’t make it sound like it was sex they were doing, more like it was something for the baby. “Okay they’re gone let’s get to it.” “Oh I don’t feel like it anymore.” “What?!? I spent all that time trying to get them to leave and now you don’t want any of this?” Ryan said posing for Alexis. “No” she laughed. “I just don’t feel good.”
“How do you mean?” “I just go this pain in my back that won’t go away.” “What do you think it is?” “I don’t know.” “Maybe we should go to the hospital you could be going into labor.” “I don’t want to go if it’s not an emergency. Can we just wait a while?” “I guess.” Ryan said sitting next to her on the couch. “Can you rub my feet they hurt so much?”
“Sure.” He said putting her feet on his lap. “Scratch that I want you to rub my back instead it’s just getting worse.” “Well then we are going to the hospital.” “No.” “Get up and let’s go.” Ryan said helping her up. He took her out to the car and then went back into the house to get her bag that they had packed weeks before. He ran back outside, jumped in the car and drove as fast as he could to the hospital. He wanted to call his family on the way but he was so caught up Alexis screaming that he could barely drive let alone use the phone. Luckily he made to the hospital before she had the baby on the floor, which she was screaming she would do if he didn’t move faster. Outside the hospital there was a wheelchair waiting and when the car stopped Alexis tried her best to run to it but she couldn’t even walk. Ryan ran around the car to help her out. He had to leave her so he could park the car but Alexis wasn’t too happy with that. She was wheeled into the hospital and to her own room where she was greeted by her doctor. “Hello Alexis how are you?” her doctor said. “Well I hung out at home in this stupid heat. I was going to have sex with Ryan to speed up the labor but the baby was nice enough to do it on its own. Finally! Oh yeah and I’m trying my hardest not to push this baby out onto the floor right now. So if you would be kind and help me I would appreciate it.” “Ok Alexis let’s get you all hooked up.” “I don’t care what you do but please get this freaking baby out of me.” “Ok you just got to get up here and we’ll see how long it’s going to take us.” “Ok thank you.” Then Alexis looked at the door seeing Ryan walk in. “I hate you.” “I’m sorry Alexis but I had to park the car.” Ryan said coming in trying to help. “Get off of me I don’t need you.” “Wow she’s a tough one.” The orderly said taking the wheel chair out with him. “Is this your first?” “No third child, second pregnancy.” “Wow was she this bad during the first one?” “I don’t remember and I try not to.” “That’s a good idea.” “I know.” “Would you quit chatting and help me?” “Yes hunny.”“I hate you so much right now.” “What did I do?” “You wanted a freaking baby.” “Didn’t you want one?” “I could have lived without it.”
“You got pregnant.” “You knocked me up jackass.” “I’ll leave and let you two talk.” “No doctor you’re going to tell me when this baby will be born.” “In a few hours. I have other patients I’ll be back in a few minutes.” She said walking out the door and taking a deep breath. “I hate her.” “I hate when you’re in labor.” “Well I’m sorry I’ll just go home and stop this whole labor and birth thing. But wait I can’t! So deal with it.” “You know you could be less bitchy about this whole thing.” “And you could stop yelling at me it’s stressing me out.” “Calm down okay.” He said walking towards her. “Just breathe and I’ll be here every step of the way.” “Ok” she said breathing then she started screaming again because of another contraction. Ryan looked concerned when he looked at the heart monitor. So he called the doctor to figure out what was up. “Well it seems that with every contraction the baby’s heart rate goes down. Something isn’t right. I think we need an emergency c-section.” The doctor said. Then she started giving orders to the nurses. Alexis was put on a gurney and taken into another room. Ryan started prepping and then he realized he never called any of the family. He made a quick stop and called his mom and he told her to call everyone else. Then he ran to the room where Alexis was and waited for the doctors to start. Everything seemed to be going fine until Ryan noticed that Alexis was falling asleep. He yelled at the doctors to do something and then he was sent outside because they had to take care of her and the baby. Ryan waited forever in the hallway. He prayed that the girl were alright. A few months before they had given in and found out that the baby was a girl. Ryan was so excited because he only needed one of each but having two girls made him feel like more of a father. He would have to protect for the rest of their lives and he loved the fact he would have two because when Brooke was unbearable and a teenager he would still have sweet little innocent Elizabeth. Oh yeah they named her already. Alexis had been so bored the last month that she spent hours searching for the right name. What seemed like hours later, the doctor came out without a smile on her face? “What’s wrong?” Ryan asked. “I’m sorry Ryan but she didn’t make it?”

“I’m sorry what can I do to make you feel better.” “Strip me!”
