Back at the house
“Peyton and Brooke get back her and untie me.” James yelled.
“But Uncle James you’re the good guy and we’re the bad guys this is what we do.” Peyton said. Then he ran away into the kitchen.
“Hey Uncle James I’ll untie you if you be my boyfriend.” Brooke said with a smile on her face.
“How can I resist an offer like that?”
“What?”
“Untie me please?”
“Okay.” She said untying James. James didn’t know how Peyton had such good tying skills for being a four year old. Ryan was really weird at teaching his kids survival skills.
“Thank you Brooke.” James said kissing her on the cheek.
“Do you want to have a tea party?” said as the doorbell rang.
“I would love that but first I have to get the door.”
“Okay I’ll go set up.”
“Okay.” James said running to the door only finding it to be Amanda. “What do you want?”
“What’s with the attitude?”
“You are interrupting my tea party with Brooke.”
“Oh I’m so sorry to spoil the only real date you’ve gotten in years.”
“Oh so you weren’t a real date?”
“I didn’t mean that.”
“What did you mean?”
“I don’t know what I meant I just came for my coat so if you let me get it I’ll be on my way.”
“Fine by me.” James said ushering her in.
“So how’s that girl you were with? What was her name again? Bitch?”
“What’d you say?”
“How is that girl you were with?”
“Well her name his Trish and I broke up with her like’s it’s any of you’re business.”
“I was just asking a question.”
“Okay.”
“Did you get tired of her once you didn’t need her anymore to cheat on me?”
“Look that was one time and I said I was sorry.”
“Dude you had sex with her in my bed, at my apartment and you think sorry is going to cut it?”
“Well what else was I supposed to do?”
“You were supposed to stop explaining and start showing me that I meant more to you than her.”
“I thought I did.”
“No James you didn’t. You weren’t supposed to have sex with her in the first place and then when you did you yelled at me like I did something wrong.” Amanda yelled and then tears came to her eyes.
“I’m sorry I know I can’t fix it but I am sorry.”
“You couldn’t handle the 'no sex' thing could you?”
“No I tried the no sex thing for 4 years but the fact that you weren’t ready to settle down was what I couldn’t handle.”
“So you go behind my back with some bimbo to make me settle down. That only got me riled up.”
“Well she understood and she was there when I needed someone to get where I was coming from and then it got to intense and next I found myself in bed with her.”
“Whatever. I don’t think there’s any use in talking about it anymore. It happened and we are over and I’ll just have to except it.”
“Look Amanda if you would go out to dinner with me one more time and let me explains just so we leave with some clarity would you do that?”
“Let me think about it.”
“Okay”
“Uncle James the tea is ready come on!”
“Okay”
“Aunt Amanda! What are you doing here?”
“I just left my coat but I have to go now.” She said giving Brooke a hug.
“Okay bye James let’s go.”
Amanda led herself out thinking to herself how she wanted to show James that she was doing fine with out him but she wasn’t. She still missed him and she really wanted to give him another chance. She thought the dinner would be a good idea but she wanted something more fun that would take some tension away.
