It had been a few weeks since the incident with Vanessa and Jacob. They still talked but it was awkward still. Vanessa had tried hard to make new friends besides Jacob. And most of these new friends were guys. She had also gotten a date with this guy in her class named Stephan. She was so excited that she couldn’t wait to get ready.
She was in her room getting dressed from her shower when she heard a knock on her door. She opened it still wrapped in her towel.
“Oh wow I’m sorry is this a bad time?” it was Jacob.
“No not really I’m just getting ready for a date.”
“Oh who’s the lucky guy?”
“This guy in my class named Stephan.”
“Oh really? How old is he?”
“What does it matter?”
“I don’t know.”
“What’d you come here for anyway?”
“I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang but I guess you’re busy.”
“Well duh.” She said going back in the bathroom to get dressed.
Jacob searched around her room looking at all the pictures. All he saw was pictures of Vanessa and him but she wouldn’t know it was him because she didn’t know it was him. “Are all these of your brother?”
“Yeah.”
“He’s a good looking guy.”
“I guess. He could get any girl he wanted.”
“That’s not true.” Jacob said looking through Vanessa’s purse and finding condoms. He quickly took them out of her purse and put them in his pocket. No way was she having sex.
“How would you know?”
“I knew him. No girl wanted him he was too nice.” He said putting the purse back down and grabbing one of the pictures.
“Whatever.” She said coming out of the bathroom grabbing the picture from Jacob’s hand and putting it on her shelf. She took a good look at it and then looked at Jacob and saw a resemblance. She couldn’t figure it out for awhile but then she got this crazy notion that he was her brother as a ghost or something. “Weird.”
“What?”
“You look exactly like my brother.”
“Yeah and?” Jacob said eagerly.
“And what else?”
“Is there anything you want to say?”
“Well I had this crazy idea that you were my brother but he’s dead.”
“That’s it I am your brother!”
“Are you nuts? He’s dead.”
“Help me out here please?” Jacob yelled at the ceiling.
“What are you doing?” she said answering her door when she heard a knock. “Hi Stephan I think we’re going to have to postpone the date something came up.”
“That’s ok I hope you deal with it.” He said looking a Jacob confused.
“Jacob Smith what are doing?”
“My name’s not Jacob Holden.”
“What is it?”
“It’s Justin Smith and I’m your brother.”
