The next day was Friday and Alexis was so happy that she would be able to have a weekend without school or anything to worry about especially that new kid who was creepy and didn’t seem to give up even though she was married. She only had one class with him and it was the first so she could deal with him and get it over with in the beginning of the day. She got to school and went to her locker. When she was about to walk into her first hour Beau called her over to his locker. “What’s up Beau?” “That new kid, Nathan. You should watch out for him.” “I know Beau I went through with this yesterday.” “Yeah but I talked to him yesterday after class and he seemed like he wasn’t give up just yet.” “But he knows I’m married.” “Yeah that’s not going to stop him especially when your husband is gone in Georgia.” “Well fine okay I’ll try to stay away from him. Okay?” “If you need any help just ask”
“Beau why are you so nice to me now? We never really got along when I was dating your brother.” “Because now we’re family and families protect each other escpecailly when you have no one else right now.” “Okay thanks Beau. Now get to class. You families can also get you in trouble for being late.” “Okay. Bye. See you later.” He said giving her a hug and running down the hall to his class. Alexis walked into her class and saw Nathan sitting down next to her desk just waiting for her. “Why can’t you take a hint and leave me alone?”
“Because I want you and I’m not about to give up.” “I’m married.” “And where is your so called ‘husband’?”
“I don’t have to tell you.” “Exactly” “He’s in the air force in Georgia.” “Oh so he’ll never know if you wanted to like go out on a date.” “Well he’d never a need to know because I’m not going on a date with you.” “You know you want me.”
“You know that’s a lie.” Nathan was about to say something but then the bell rang and the teacher had started talking. Alexis sat there and did all her work and when the bell rang she rushed out of the room trying to get away from Nathan. But she didn’t get away fast enough. He grabbed her arm and gave her a piece of paper with his number on it. “Call me.” He said letting go of her. Alexis took back her arm and walked down the hall throwing the piece of paper on the floor and rolling her eyes. “How was class?” Beau asked.
“He’s not giving up.” Alexis answered. “Well I don’t know what to do about him yet but we’ll figure something out.” “I don’t know.” “Just trust me.” “Okay.” “Hey there’s this party tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to come and have some fun. You been very sad since Ryan left.” “I wonder why?”
“Well you should come take your mind off things.” “No I think I’ll just home. I’ve been tired lately and I’m not in the mood to go to a party. Besides who knows Nathan might show up.” “You’re right. I hope you feel better soon.” “Okay see you later.” She waved goodbye to Beau and went on with her classes for the rest of the day. When school was over she drove home and just laid in bed and watched TV and she fell asleep and she didn’t wake up until four hours later when she heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
