+ 9	The time i chickened out - christmas edition

The bell echoed through the empty school corridors and they were suddenly filled with hundreds of students eager to get out of the doors. It was a Friday and as usuall I  was being pushed around but I just had to had to put up with it. Its not like I had anywhere to be, I want invited anywhere since i was branded as 'the quiet emo girl'.

After what seemed like forever the corridors were empty and I was left alone to find my locker and get my stuff. I was rummaging through my bag, looking for my cell when i felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I jumped and as my eyes glanced up I recognised the familiar smile of Cody Lawson, high school jock and my crush since seventh grade. "Looking for this?" he asked in his husky voice holding up my cell. My hands went clammy and my throat went dry. "Um,um yer, thanks." i stammered taking the cell from his hand, treasuring every moment of touching his fingertips. "I found it outside our Algebra class, I figured it was yours coz of the heart." "Oh, yer I drew that on in Math, I really stuggled today." I said, suprisingly casually. "Well I could help you if you like. How bout you come round to mine, say about 8?". Oh my gosh! Was Cody asking me on a date!? After knowing him for all of 3 minutes he was asking me on a date, well nearlly. After realising he was waiting for an answer I woke up from my daydream and out stumbled, "Aren' you going to Ashleys pool party?" "No, I think Ill give it a miss even though we are dating there is such a thing as too much Ashley." He whispered, casually, laughing and showing his gleaming white teeth. I giggled back, sounding like I was 5! "Well, catcha around Helen." He strode off, turning, waving then he was gone.

He knew my name! Oh my gosh! After 3 years of waiting my crush has noticed me! I just sat there on the ground staring at my vans and remembering exactly where his jeans touched them.I dont know what I was waiting for but i just sat there, playing back what he said in my head. Trying to work out if it was real or not. Finally I got up and began to walk home. I had a huge smile on my face and not even my mom nagging me for being late was going to chance that.

I ran upstairs crashed out on my bed and blasted out some Lost Prophets I feel into a daydream about Cody again and when i woke up it was 7:00pm I had to rush to get ready. I showered and changed into my black skinnies, pink vest top and kept my vans on, since they had been touched. I made sure i didnt wash my finger tips of my right hand, where they touched his.God, I though, I was obsessed. I blow dryed my hair then set off, my parents looked gobsmacked when I told them. For once thier daughter had somewhere to go on Friday night, Cody Lawsons house. Gosh!
