Rules ('cause you've gotta have standards):
1. It's a 1-5 page short story, not a paragraph of you describing a leaf.
2. If your story has even one place where you use letters in place of words or numbers in place of letters, you will be immediately disqualified.
3. Judges can't participate in the competition (sorry judges).
4. Use spell check. PLEASE.
5. There will be a story theme, much like some of the poetry contests. You have to follow the theme at least to some extent. You can express it abstractly if you wish, but it has to at least reflect the theme, even remotely.
6. Submissions will be sent ALL judges via email before the deadline date. Do not post them in the story section or on this message board. We will review them and choose our favorite three entries. When the end comes around, the winners can post their stories in the story section with the titles "#1 Short Story: (title)," etc.
