it's we who have lost control of this country... not bush. we lost it when we let the supreme court decide the election in 2000. we lost control a long time ago when lobbyist were given voices to go along with those pockets.... when voting machines leave no paper trails and are made from politically owned (and thus suspect) companies. we lost control when we allowed our representatives to disrupt the flow of power and the checks and balances that were put in place to control that flow. bush lost control? he's gained more control over this country than is right or even legal.
I don't think were selfish, i think were fighting a war with no purpose. Iraw had nothing to do with 9-11 yet we attacked them. I'm not saying Saddam was a great guy or anything, but he wasn't doing anything to us. We told him to hand over his weapons of mass destruction. He responded by saying he didnt have any; so we invaded Iraq. And hey, what'd ya know, no weapons of mass destruction. its a war without a purpose. Theres countries all over the world that need help, look at Africa. Yet we neglect them and focus on Iraq, where we are slowly starting a civil war and getting ourselves in too deep.
I think that, though I have little care how our country is represented to other countries, the US did not need to go to Iraq. Now that the US is there I do not think it would be right to leave though. I disagree with Bush's new plan to send thousands more troops there though. It is strategy and policy that are wrong, not numbers.
