Universe Pondering

I was thinking about the scene from "Garden State" (very good movie by the way) where that girl talks about doing something completely original the other day and wondering if that was really possible. With 6.4 billion people alive today and billions and billions having been alive is there really anything anymore that hasnt been done? I guess if you take location into account such as "No one has ever whistled while laying down in this exact spot". Even that is implausible. So many people occupy the earth for an average of 60 years? Thats a lot of life. Is there a limit to originality? Is there an actual point where everything really has been done? Based on the assumption that time and space are infinite there would be an infinite number of individual events so there's always something new. But does infinite really exist? Or is it just a concept used to describe numbers, values and amounts too large for our comprehension.
Assuming time and space and thus possibilities are infinite, wouldnt that mean that there would HAVE to be other life SOMEWHERE? All the planet earth and all that lives on it is is a very specific set of circumstances and possibilities that make life possible. Hell with infinite possibilities that would mean that somewhere out there there is a planet identical to ours except there hitler was a woman.

With this stipulation of infinite possibilities the question of whether or not something happened would be eliminated and replaced by questions of when and where.

This would also mean that at some point somewhere at any given time the universe is being destroyed, is already destroyed and is in existence, hell somewhere, sometime the universe is made entirely of grape jello.

But it isnt because that contradicts itself... With infinite possibilities the universe would not exist because that is a possibility.

I've been thinking about this for a few years and the only solution I can come to while remaining that time and space are infinite is that they are also circular. Infinite in repeating a pattern. Thus infinite possibilities are not possible but infinite time and space are.

I think i'm in way over my head here with this stuff, I feel like an amoeba trying to build the hubble telescope.

I no texty back because I no get texts.

But with your theory on "forgetting the forgetting" i guess it could happen. It is, in fact, a theory. Its no more right or wrong than my own is.

And gravitons are a fun concept as well. There're so many things out there.

Have you ever happened to read The Mothman Prophecies?

How do we lose something and not have recorded it?
Wellllllllll lets say all the technological countries blows up. Haha. All we have left is the villages with little knowledge of what's going on in the world. Which then leads back to square one or square 20 whatever how you want to look upon it. :) OOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR Those that do know what happen refuse to record it or let others know because they don't want to become that advanced again and let it happen to us. Eventually the population grew and the old have died. The new forgotten what the old taught them. You can expand your mind from there... I don't wanna get into detail since our minds think differently. But those could be possiblities.

that is a pretty well discussed thory on alternate realities, based on "the uncertainty principle"

It goes like this, There are small parts of every atom in existance that are called "gravitons" These gravitons have been observed to exist at one moment, not in the next, and sometimes in two places at once without altering the atomic weight...

where do these particles go? Possibly lending their power to alternate existances of the same atom...somewhere else?

Linear time is a great concept though =)

I don't believe in linear Time. Its an illusion. Time is really up to the perceptions of humans. Its how WE expieriance reality, not the way reality is. Ifact what is even "real" is up to us as spiritually sentient beings.

To me everything falls under the is, will be, and was catagory...even existance and nonexistance occured at the same time...The Yin and the Yang, Microcosm Macrocosm. Existing a little bit in everything.

Thanks for the welcome =).

And yes, there are infinite possibilities. But that would mean that every possibility has its own universe. What I mean by this is that every possibility creates its own separate chain of events that follow the choice or possibility that you chose. The other are what could've happened, what you could've done.

We live with an infinite amount of separate universe. They all co-exist, waiting for us to walk into them.

If that dependent variable is my theory, where the singularity is reformed and all is restarted, then yes, we'll have lost all of what we knew without recollection of it.

Think about it. How many lives have we lived? How many times has this universe been recreated?

I think Im going to like you Obstruction. Welcome. Like you said earlier in your writing you can't even really do the same thing twice (the lay down and whistle thing) so if that is correct logic EVERYTHING you do is original...I don't believe that, just saying.

Also In infinate space, and infinate time, there are infinate possibilities. Anything that can happen WILL happen.

Of coarse if the universe were infinate and the light traveling from space as stars are a sign that light can't be stopped, then why isn't the night sky completely filled with light instead of darkness?

not if everything is started over. it depends on that i guess. like completely starting over back to the hunter-gatherer stage? or just knowing everything we know now but not having the means to create it or obtain it or control it.

but if we end up having to start all over again because we lose everything then how could it be recoreded...genius.

I'm thinking (not too far) in the future something will happen to the earth and then we're back to square one again where we know nothing and have to learn everything all over again. I think this happened in the past but hasn't been recorded which is why there are so many incomplete blanks in history. :)
