I want even go into to something I was going to do. I will say I almost didn't get married for the very same reason.

My brother lost his job years ago and he and his wife were about to lose their home. As a last resort she went to the welfare office to get help. Of course no one wants to do that, but they were young and had two children. They didn't qualify for any help because he hadn't been out of work long enough. They basically wanted them to lose their home, go hungry, just lose everything before they could help. They ended up having to sale their house.

Yeah oops sorry I attached my own little add on and it sounded like I was saying that was what you were saying... Yeah I know one reason why Im glad Obama is in. He wants to get rid of that pre existing condition claus too...My Twin and sister in law wanted insurance once they found out she was pregnent...they said they couldn't...they have to go through all this shit and try wellfare and all kinds of crap...they don't want a free ride...they just want to get proper care and pay for it....I told them that if they wanted the kid to be cared for tell the government that her and her husband (my twin) are seperated and that the child is mine and we're not married! ha ha this country is backwards. you do it right and cant get a fair shake...you do it all wrong and your taken care of!

Noooo.. I think anyone that didn't have the funds, time or whatever their reason may be, should be kept alive. I don't think anyone should be put to death without it being their choice. But I also think a medical professional should look at the situation closely and determine if the person will heal or not. It's definitely not something a friend or family member should determine. I don't think a you can trust the request of a person in agony.

About what you said: "And people that don't have the funds to stay alive get what life has to offer them...death."

That's how our country is now, and I completely disagree with a persons worth being based on whether or not they have insurance, and who the providers is. That drives me insane!

I think you should have the right to decide. If you were to ever face a problem leaving you a human vegetable, you should have the right, right now to have your decision in writing. Of course, the people that didn't make provision for this would be kept alive.

I would not want to die in a vegtable state. I don't think its fair that you would make me die. I wish to sustain this ubsurd life for as long as I can. Im not sure Im really alive right now anyway. who is to say that we are not in a dream of our old selves...and if we are vegtables we don't exist somewhere else...there was a post the other day about what happens when fictional characters die???

the problem is our definitions, understandings, and knowledges of life and death are flawed. We think that Death is the oppisite of life and that isn't true in my mind. One of our definitions of something being alive is the ability to grow. plants grow. grown ups do not. hair "grows" and we know it to not be alive....so no thats wrong. oh boy just end the suffering already. ALL killing is Mercy killing if you ask me.

There should be laws in place preventing people from being forced to live in a vegetable state. We are questioned before major surgery etc.. If we would want life support if needed. I don't know of anything preventing a person from living like a vegetable. Most human beings would rather not live life like that.

Why would you keep it alive? Normally we'd consume them.
