If I were President...
I got this concept from a contest im doing for the area kids.. Finish the sentence If I were president..

if i was president i would legalize marijuana, drop the price of it and make it a government issued thing so that it'd put the drug dealers out of business and just have a hefty tax on it to help america get out of debt...help eliminate gang violence, etc
i'd legalize prostitution its gonna happen anyways might as well have it legit and eliminate or at least minimize the corruption involved with it and get some kind of taxes off of it...
buy lots of the open land that we have...and start oil drilling..giving americans jobs, and eliminating the necessity of foreign oil...
open up a government ran version of like a wal-mart..at one time wal-mart was one of the most valuable stocks ever....hire only high school graduates, all the profits reinvest in that community...and give jobs to the people
open up a chain of fast foods similar concept to the wal-mart thing
start a government organization that works as like a temporary job agency but all jobs that are hiring more than like say 5 people have to submit the qualifications to the organization and have everybody thats eligable forced to attend the job or not receive unemployment pay..but make unemployment pay for everybody thats unemployed and willing to follow these guidelines
give people who are in jail sentenced to "life" the opportunity to get the death sentence...unpacking the overcrowded jails...
have an organization specifically designed to be on the local "streets"...examing things that go by, helping people from local communities and also a way to monitor corrupt police business...it would be funded by some of the "property taxes"
buy lots of land and start government maintained farms..all organic...making a major food company like kraft or whatever, and allowing the homeless or unemployed or whatever to work for 4 hours in exchange for 1 all you can eat meal
add a larger budget to city libraries to fund community teachings...because education should be allowed to everybody...job interview skills, basic computer skills, etc
start taxing internet suppliers...dsl, aol, etc...and use that money to hire an organization to monitor the internet from corruption, hackers, etc...a whole division centered for that
make it mandatory that all schools have a problem outreach system where students going through problems at home, etc would have a 100% confidential, non medicated, way of communicating with the students in need..get the money from the lottery and people who win "outrageous" amounts of money...loterry, game shows, etc
make non pain relieving, etc prescription drugs available at your local stores..amaoxycillin, albuterol, etc....
have a government funded record label to reach the youth in voting, awareness, etc with professional style production and distribution....and allow the company to fund itself
make a website where its 100% free, no spam, no download agent, no peer to peer strictly downloading off of a government monitored site, where downloads are free you just have to view a short commercial to fund the artist and record label that put it out
..and a few other things...thats what i can think of off the top of my head
