Plastic surgery?!?
What's your take on plastic surgery? Would you ever do it , if so what would you get done?

Plastic surgery is a tool, and as all tools of science/ medicine it can, and is, frequently abused. I am all for it, in the right conditions and for people in the correct frame of mind. Aside from its stigma, where one’s thoughts automatically jump to rhinoplasty and augmentation mammaplasty, it can be an impressive correction for a wide array of problems. I don’t appreciate the industry that has risen from the science, that it is necessary to have mandatory psychological evaluations for potential applicants, that people and their issues with perfection are able to professionally mutilate themselves and diminish all that is unique about their physicality for some ever elusive picture of societal beauty. And that our culture by default seems to find that entirely acceptable.
As a tool, it is both wondrous and monstrous. I don’t hold anything against anyone about wanting to change one or two things about themselves for merely vain aesthetic purposes. Everyone has the right to feel happy about themselves, no one can choose how they will look before they’re born. But there is a line, and most in my opinion cross it. I find it amazing what they can do for people who have been badly injured, burned, or otherwise by unfortunate genetic or environmental factors have been disfigured.
As for me, as a kid I always hated my ears, everyone told me they stuck out like Dumbo’s. I have an odd, slightly misshapen 5th digit on my right hand; an accumulation of bone after breaking it near the PIP joint several times. However, it’s too much fun seeing everyone unmistakably disturbed by it. I wouldn’t change either if I had the choice.
