Why do people insist on misrepresenting themselves?

I can understand putting up a fake picture because you don't want to advertise your real face to the world. But why just leave it to the viewer to assume that the picture is really of you. If you're going to use a fake picture at least put some sort of note saying "this is not my real picture" or something to that effect.

You're a fucking idiot. I'm not saying I want a life story, I just want a disclaimer stating that "this is not me" If it is you then that is awesome. You don't have to say anything if it is you but it isn't right to deceive everyone on the net. I'm not angry, and I don't hate anyone that does put up a picture of someone other than themselves but at least be courteous enough to tell the truth.
