is punk really dead?

i dont think it is. there's still the casualties, anti-flag, pennywise, bad religion (even though i dont really like them), and yes, even the adicts. and plus i actually know several punks myself. and punk has been through way too much to be dead already. and how would you all know if punk is dead or not, its not as if YOU started punk or as if you own punk. and if punk is so dead, explain how my chemical romance, green day, good charlotte, and sum 41 got here? its all because they were inspired by punk.
