Children and Language

Should parents BRAINWASH their children by teaching the language they speak? Shouldn't the child chose the language they would like to speak, the language they want to believe in. What if the child is addopted and of a different race. Should the parent brainwash the little foriegner to speak the parents native toungue?

The truth is out there, it's just buried deep deep down in a parallel universe that's easy to access, but they're just covering it up... You know they, them the ones... haha!

If truth is not relative...then who gives a fuck about it. The truth is NOT out there. Truth wants nothing to do with us. then to hell with it.

It was a parody of someone elses topic talking about "Religion and Children" or something along those lines.

well there's not much the kid can do about it. They can't really think when they're babies "no, actually I don't want to learn this language". For older kids, no I don't think this should happen BUT your question was so incredibly biased I was considering disagreeing with you! The way you put BRAINWASH was a bit one sided, i think influence would be more appropriate.

Every child should be encouraged and helped to explore their heritage. Period. No one's thirst for knowledge should be suppressed or oppressed.

I basically told people... I believe what I believe, you believe what you believe. As long as you keep it to yourself, I could care less.

I feel the same way, and I know non-believers (of the Christian faith) feel the same way when a Christian tries to talk to them about God.

Yeah. Jehovah's Witnesses once knocked on my door. I didn't even say one word to them, they said hello and I saw the Bible in her hand. Wham. Door slammed in their face. Mi madre be complaining about how that's rude and you should be nice since they're just doing their job. But they're cult members, they don't deserve respect.
