Austrian Man Enslaves His Daughter.

So, this has been on the news for a while. But I haven't seen a thread for this around here. A man in Austria imprisoned his daughter in their basement, and fathered children off of her. He then kept these children locked up as well. It's frightening and terrible that the worse things that can happen to a person, may not come from a stranger, but from within their own family. I also hope this man learns the 'joys' of being someone's bitch in prison...painful castration would be an option as well.

i think You're right, the likelihood of experiencing arrested development is very high for these children. (For anyone not familiar with the term 'arrested development,' it basically means that a person who experiences severe traumatic situations tends to stop developing emotionally and socially at whatever age they had reached by the time of the trauma. It can happen at any age.)

The rest might end up as 'feral' children. Children who miss out on crucial stages of development while young, end up being stunted socially, mentally, and emotionally. Even with care and attention after the damage is done, they usually never rise above the level of a five year old in cognitive development.

I'm not much for revenge myself. However, when it comes to people who rape and abuse children...that is just one thing that really burns me up.

its fucking disgusting, the guy should be put in solitary confinement for the rest of his life,the daughter and the 2 sons must be so fucked up by this, apparently the hospital ha to make a windowless room for them cause they're so scared of the outside world, and also there was something about the sons being scared of the colour blue, rustling leaves and traffic noise, luckily one of the sons is only 5 so he probably has a good chance of making a full recovery under the circumstances

he will probaly get more than that, the eldest daughter(i think she is 19), is currently in a coma and is not expested to survive, if she dies he will probably get charged with murder by negligence which carries a 20-25yr penalty in austria, it was in the paper today

Expressing outrage is cathartic, and expressions of empathy for the children doesn't always provide that level of release. These stories evoke anger as much as sadness, at least they can. Oh, and Fritzl can only get 15 years on the rape counts, total.

I don't do revenge either BUT in severe cases I wouldn't protest it. The children, well I thought that was a given, I really didn't feel the need to say what was so obvious ..but I will next time. TV is over rated and I watch very little, I prefer to filter what I let in my environment.

i stopped being surprised by people years ago. i don't watch the news. i don't even have cable, basic or otherwise. News is one of the leading causes of stress in America. And i've never been one for the whole revenge thing (an eye for an eye) any more than Jesus was. i'll tell You what amazed me about people. Did the question come up in Your Government class regarding how You thought the kids could be helped? The most painful punishment our country, which has been in the prison business for 118 years (give or take a few months), has devised, is the very premise that the first institutions for incarceration were based on: isolation. Like Gary Ridgeway (aka the Green River Killer). When he got to prison he was only allowed out of his cell one hour a day, during which he gets to shower and walk around in circles inside an enclosed 'rec yard.' But the reason for his separation is his own safety, because odds are someone in that prison was related to one of the girls he killed. But this is an American prison. And all this is trivial. The only thing of importance here is the children. There's not much doubt in my mind that this guy will be dealt with, and all with out me having to wish bad juju on him. Let him go (i don't mean release him, but stop focusing any more time on him). i for one am not concerned with his future.

Yeah, i've watched it over and over on CNN and BBC World. I hate that guy. I think he should be punished the most painful way. How could he possible do that.It's almost unbelievable to me and nobody even knoews about it. Not even his wife.
