I saw the title of this one thread that seems to be up everyday and thought it said this. I was like YES finally some devirsity in here...then I thought damn not a chance. :(
I agree. That's why I usually refuse to check the box on the fafsa app that asks about race. Plus I think I could be at a disadvantage for aid because for some reason other races are more encouraged to go to school then us white folk.
Like I said, race is completely bogus... but it mostly describes a persons color. When you say "African-American," you think about a person with black skin and curly hair. Despite how completely bias that term is (assuming every black person is from Africa, and currently lives in America), it can not be used to describe a person from South Africa (who might have white skin, blond hair and blue eyes).
Is race only a way to describe a persons color? Or their ethnicity? Because I mean, in that case...I was raced half hilly billy half ghettolicious. I have a hard time figuring out which would describe me the best.
