Speaking of world wars, did you know that some spiritual authors believe there will be a third and final world war that may cause more lives to be lost than an war. Of course, it's highly unlikely, since tensions are low at the moment.

An example of such military might proving fruitless would be the Soviet Union being bogged down in Afghanistan. Did any other country see them as less powerful because of it? Most certainly not. When a country has an extensive nuclear weapons cache under no means can they be described as weak.

Our military is quite possibly the strongest in the world. It is no surprise, however, that a military trained to wage wars against other country's national militaries are having a hell of a time fighting against guerilla fighters. It is why the Redcoats lost to the revolutionary army...

Im not so sure that pulling out means that the soldiers that have already fallen have done so in vain. Its a soldiers job to die. they are told that from square one. its not to kill or to protect. its to die and do it when your told to. If there was a pull out it would be so that other soldiers wouldn't have to die in vain. It would leave a power vacuum that would be filled with people that hate america and the cycle will not only continue it will get worse. America forgot the most important lesson in the art of war.

Pride is not just cause to continue wars. Not offending someone's honor won't end wars, unless that person is an arrogant tyrant you don't want to antagonize. If soldiers and their families expect wars to continue on the basis that they'll feel their efforts are wasted, they are being immensely selfish. It's not the countries job to avenge every bereaving military family.
