I think bees are a great example of body language. They can tell each other using a dance, where nectar is, how far away and such, and other bees can go and fly there, and they get all the information they need from watching this 'dance'.... amazing. But yes, they do need eyes and ears and such, but thats all part of the body. This plant theory is very interesting, maybe one day, someone will be able to explain it...
Yes, but body language is still done with sight. without eyes you couldn't see it. without ears you could hear the spoken language. Plants almost at their very core when they're in danger send out a signal to others of their kind to prepare for attack. It's unknown how they do it, but it's believed, or at least in the way I'd say, a form of kinetic communication. Possibly a gene that connects them even from slightly long distances. they have no vocal cords, no ears, eyes, no sense of smell(as far as we know), so it is a strange thing indeed.
a smile is body language, and if you just look at the phrase, 'body language'... says it all. It is probably more accurate than any other spoken language.
language is any form of communication. Throwing a rock at someone could be consider a language in it's own. It in itself expresses personal opinion just as much as a smile. In all reality, plants have a more sophisticated communication network with each other than humans.
