Wanna know something most people dont stop to think about?

I personally dont have anything against Christians, but I would like people to know why Christianity has survived for so long. It's NOT because the people there when Christianity came into power believed half the shit, it's because if they didn't, they'd be killed for heresy. When Emporer Constantine adopted Christianity as the official Roman religion, the Catholic Church immediately abused its power to the extent that even the rulers of the land feared it. It was not by faith that the church gained so much power, but because they excommunicated anyone that did not bow to their will. If you were not a puppet, you were labeled a heretic and subsequently killed. I give credit the the church however for coming up with some pretty damn good forms of torture... Such as placing stones on a platform one by one until the heretic tied underneath it is tortured into saying they're a witch. The church used fear, not faith to achieve its dominant power. So before you go off saying Christianity has survived so long through faith, don't forget what is written down and has been proven. Thank you very much.

Partially, not full blown though. Either way, it was fun.

"As I've said to others, all I have done with this is let people know how Christianity became so powerful. Most powerful religions came into such power through fear. Just not many people ever say anything about Christianity without just saying "It's bullshit!!" and leaving it at that." Not just religions, but countries, Governments, companies, hell - even the "gangs" in cities and suburbs. Agreed :)

Yeah. I don't own any real estate or housing. I live with my parents. Huge difference. If I was on my own, discretionary spending would nearly halt. Especially here in New England cause it's expensive as hell.

its different when you own property, you gotta remember i'm a homeowner, about to own 2, and then rent one out, and i buy everything cash, i never use credit cards or lease ANYTHING, if i can't buy it cash i don't buy it at all. her in lies my problem, land, walls, cars and an object on every surface of my possesions giving me an illusion of ownership that is questioned everytime the taxes, bills come in or i feel not free, my things are owning me

I sold a few CDs to the local FYE a few weeks ago. It was hard even deciding which ones I would dump. I really could sell a shitload of DVDs that I never should have bought in the first place, cause I don't watch much TV beyond South Park, The Simpsons, and Family Guy (half hour comedies, little continuity)
