Why is it so easy for so many to be close-minded about God?

I'm a christian and as such, I get put down alot for my beliefs in God and his son, Jesus Christ. It seems as though, growing up, it was uncool and nearly unheard of NOT to be a believer but the older I get, the more I see that the christians are waaay outnumbered. So why is it so hard for people to believe in God anymore?

christianity is not the only belief that encompasses God, you can have one without the other

god and the bible were just created so people could feel like they had the answers to everything, hes not real, its all made up and, its so easy to see how the bible contradicts itself and that is why we can be closed minded

That's almost by default. America is the third biggest population in the world: China and India (the two up front) don't have large Christian populations. America does, and are more religious per capita than any other western nation.

How strange...considering it's the Christians that outnumber people. Americe, predominately Christian...I'm assuming you live in the USA...in which case, no, you are not in the minority when it concerns religion.

Most people do believe in God, however there are some who choose to live their lives as Christians, as oppose to merely screaming about it when it suits their purpose.

i'm just curious as to what things in science "prove" the Bible is made up...like that the grand canyon is 10 million years old? no one can prove that. it is a hypothetical as no one was around to see it change. the great flood of the Bible very easily could have formed it and aged the rocks more quickly. can science "prove" we descended from monkeys? absolutely not! every argument that science has against things of the Bible are guesses, individuals estimations, hypotheses, etc.

why should it matter? for me, religion was sort of forced on me when i was little, but as i grew up, i found my self not really believing. i think its more of a grow into it sort of thing. religion in general is becoming less and less. probably because science is proving more and more things that religions tried to make reasons for.

Its funny you meation ego for something who thinks he more intellectual then everyone. Maybe some people but not everyone, if you can prove the bible wrong in any way, then ill start to listen to you but until then, your ego which by the way is further than i can imagine but may God bliss you
