My Space??? What’s the Big Attraction???

I was on a friends page and noticed she had posted her My Space link so decided to go and have a peek. It was private so I had to join, and I did. Immediately I was inundated with Pop Ups and all kinds of annoying CRAP! I persevered knowing so many go there, there must be some kind of attraction to it. Went into the Christian Chat Room only to find an angry mob and Even More annoying, jumping around and jiggling Pop Ups and then got a Virus Warning flashing on my page. EEEK!!! What is this place??? I returned to my home page and deleted my account Pronto and never did get to see her page. Haha I’m just curious as to what the big attraction is to that place? I have no intentions of ever returning myself. If someone is looking for me, they can keep on lookin’!!! I never get Pop Ups, have never had a virus warning, this place right here suits me just fine. :)

I have Norton anti-virus but admit to being somewhat computer illiterate. It's forever updating itself (I always leave anyo-update on) so I think it's current. Apparently it snagged that virus before anything happened as my report says system status O.K. It just sort of freaked me out as I pop around a little and check things out on the web and I'VE NEVER experienced anything quite like this place. YOU'VE GOT TWO CRUSHES jumping about, and when you click the X to close it, it takes you there anyway. ARGH Then it's just some stupid spam ad anyway. I'm like leave me alone. I just want to browse in peace. But nooooooooooo. Around every turn was more of the same only worse. If all that annoying crap wasn't there, I might find it worth poking around to see what's in there. I have lived all over and it might be nice to see if any old friends are listed there. BUT With all that other stuff, I found it irritating and not worth the trouble.

sond to me like you dont have an uptodate virus protection and I too dont get the my space thing I see allmost every one do it. I to tryed to go and I hod no clue how to work the thing then I asked one of my friends how it worked, they couldent explain it to me so then I asked them y do you like it so much and they couldent give me a direct answer

Thanks for responding. I just couldn't believe how they came out of nowhere and were EVERYWHERE!!! lol I was like, how do I undo this. where's the I want out button. haha I found it. Shew. It just wasn't for me I guess. I know a lot like it. They can have it. :)

i dont have the pop up problem with my computer. but i have protection on it too. it could have also been something posted onto the page that made it do that. theres some hidden things like that. but i like it, i can talk with my friends, upload photos and put them into albums, listen to music, and post blogs on there.
