Picky Writing Rules

So my english teacher made a list of Picky Writing Rules for my freshman honors class...No possesives, no past tense, no future, no to be verbs, absolutely no first or second person, no 'which' or 'many' or 'lots' or 'very' or a WHOLE BUNCH of other words or phrases or anything...it's become nearly impossible to write a satisfying paper for this woman. The crazy lady smiles all crazy like she likes it when we can't find a different word to use. She told us that it took time to master her 30+ Picky Writing Rules and that she could easily write a paper using them...so one of my friends asked her, "How would you say 'He is running around the track.'?" or something the the teacher started making this ugly face and was mumbling words over and over and then she said that she couldn't figure it out right now. How stupid is that?!

i had a grouchy strict english teacher in my first semester of college and now i look fondly upon his class. i loved to talk politics with him.

Well school is ment to be a training ground. Better to learn the proper (pretentious) way of writing. e.e. cummings doesn't capitolize his name....he is a master of the English language so he is afforded that right. I finished Comp 101, 201, 203 creative writing and critical writing coarses...and I can't freaking spell nor do I care to. I could, given time. so do as your teacher says...when you are writing for rolling stone magazine for something you will think she was your greatest teacher
