I learn about the mythology religions of other cultures. Presently I'm reading a book called "Mythology" by Richard Cavendish. A good read if you ever get interested. IMHO, people pick apart Christianity because people who follow the belief, tend to push the religion on others more often than people of other beliefs. It's the same as a child "no, you can't do that because I said so.". Most children rebel when being forced to do something without having done it and knowing it personally. I grew up in a Christian family so I understand the scenario. My philosophy on religion is that religion it was a stepping stone to civilization, but now it is redundant. People back when the beliefs were created, needed some sort of higher reasoning to existence than just chance. When something sticks out from the rest, people normally try to find a great reason WHY it's like that. For humanity, it was a God, Goddess, or some other higher deity of sorts. Now, we've evolved and see how evolution takes place over time. Recently I read an article about chimpanzees. Two female chimpanzees broke sticks, sharpened the tips, and used them to hunt and kill smaller animals. Being extremely similar to the first humans, Cro Magnon and the Neanderthal, which started off hunting in the very same way. One day these animals that we see as inferior, will be or could capable of the things we are capable of now. All and all, you have to let people choose their belief without force or threats. Eternal damnation isn't a reason to believe, it's a threat when pushed upon someone. That is why people won't convert so easily. A God who loves unconditional wouldn't send you to a hell for not believing. That would make the "unconditional love" a lie. People are entitled to their beliefs, and when you bad mouth someones beliefs without good reason, your respect is lost. I'd think every religion God, Goddess, or deity wouldn't care if followed them if you were still good, honest, kind, generous, caring person without believing in them. So be nice people. It was a somewhat spherical world last time I looked :)
