This Religion stuff...

First of all,I'm am not here to change your views ,mainly see how people react to this form of truth,I always found it awkward with God... no matter how much I prayed nothing happend,I really trusted all of it,and I didn't even wish for anything material I begged for things to get better, but over time,I have met people that showed me what I couldn't believe. This world I hate so much became much, much clearer.God,is at the bottom of everything, and its not even him,the people that wish to control the world use this as manipulation... In the end I realized, even if God is real,he makes Satan look like a goodie...

Feminism is all well and good but its current interpretation is just bothersome.

Religion is an institution. It's purpose is to promote like ideas, create an environment of spiritual development, and to promote a certain set of beliefs on god and how life should be lived. Ignorance is bliss, I give you that, but I don't think seeing religion as an institution and not believing in god is ignorance. I feel it as enlightenment.

No I think Darwin was completly right! Kierkagaard was the begining of existentialism he influenced Nietchze, Camus, Sarte, and That female one that was one of the best...but shouvinism strikes me and I forgot her name. She was a great feminist too.

but angst gets in the way of everything. Its pride denied. Psychology studies will show you that as well..its ok for now. I mean like they say ignorance is bliss...But you had a fruedian slip by calling Religion...institution...you showed your cards so to speak. It shows your brain and knowledge is trying to reach past their capacity to understand the meanings and definitoins of the words you memorize...

I can't tell you because I have only scanned some things of Kierkagaard in sociology and never heard of Camus but I will take the time to look over something of his at the library this weekend so I can be more knowledgable before arguing.

He might have recanted, but that doesnt mean he was wrong the first time around.

Of course they can, I am not dense. What do you want? Book reports on the philosophers? I am no expert. I don't feel that angst has anything to do with not believing in god, though a dread of being controlled by an institution and made into a complacent follower has something to do with dislike of religion.

My disbelief in god is because I do not agree with human portrayal of god. Not christian, but human in general. Religious if you will. It is a personal opinion. I do not think there is someone watching over us; I do not think that anything designed or created the universe specially; I do not think there is a plan, it is just mathmatics at work and natural patterns that makes some people think there is.

Nietzsche I think was a broken hearted coward that stole from the truth of Kierkagaard..and Sarte was the same but of Camus. Pascal I don't know. Darwin I believe completely...or as completely as you can a dude that recanted on his death bed! ha ha

At any rate, I am much more found of philosophers like Nietzsche and Sarte. Pascal even. Off of philosophers though, I find entertainment in Darwin's theory which I digest little by little.

no no no! I don't mean there names...anyone can google them. I mean anything in general and Im not talking about accepting. I don't accept anything. Im talking about education and opening eyes and letting go of teenage angst and human weakness. And a flawed imperfect view of reality? you want that over...something more true? wow. I couldn't have said that better myself!

Describe what you mean by old crusty philosophers. If you mean Socrates, Aristotle, Anaximenes, and Plato, then of course. Reading doesn't mean accepting. Of course our vision is a liar, the objects we see are pixelized and recreated by our brain. Our eyes are imperfect, but they are how we get most of our information about the outside world.

Well stuff means anything. I already sense you haven't studied any of the old dead crusty philosphers. Or any of the eastern religions. And vision is the BIGGEST lier. Really. Even colors...everything you see the color you interpret is the only thing that thing IS NOT!!!

Science has visible proof, in my opinion. I am a visual sort of person. And I have no idea what 'stuff' you mean. Explain?

I am bitter. I think I have said that, but I am also a realist. Pretty fantasies like a creator are beyond me. Things are always the way you see them to yourself, that is how humans are. Of course we have empathy to connect to others, but we can never see the world from someone else's exact view point because we are not them.

I don't see god or religion as special. I say no to them both without difficulty; religion because I feel it is too corrupt to be seen as sacred and god because the idea doesnt mesh with my personal beliefs.

how is science any different? I also don't feel God exists. but that is just an educated and philisophical past speaking. most people that talk about this stuff don't KNOW about this stuff.
