If your just fucking the person your with then by all means continue. BUT if your in an acctual relationship emotions are the majority of a real relationship. so if you form emotional bonds with someone online and your partner doesn't know it....its like you going out on dates behind your partners back. If your geting things from other people that you would want from your signifigant other...then you are cheating rather then try to get it from them.
